1987 Mercedes-Benz 560SL convertable
Description
My father purchased this car new in November, 1986 from the Mercedes-Benz dealership in Tulsa, OK. He traded it in on a new one at that same dealership around 2000 or 2001. In 2006, he bought the car back from the man who purchased it from the dealership where he traded it in. At that time, it only had 59,834 miles on it. I've had the car since 2010, and I've driven it only 1-2 times/year since then. In 2011, the odometer stopped working properly and has worked intermittently since then. My best estimate is that the car has between 500 - 1,000 unregistered miles (probably closer to five or six hundred), making the true mileage closer to 63,000. Around the same time, the gas gauge stopped working. The car runs smoothly and needs no mechanical work that I'm aware of (other than the odometer and gas gauge). Both the hard top and soft top are in great condition, as is the rest of the car. Other than the five or six years when the 2nd owner had it, I know for a fact that the car has always been garage kept and well maintained and cared for. The paint and interior are in excellent condition, especially considering the car is nearly 30 year old. If you're looking for an older-model Mercedes in great shape with low mileage, you won't find one better than this.
