1975 Mercedes-Benz 300D
Description
1975 Mercedes-Benz 300DHello collectors and Mercedes Enthusiasts! I am looking to sell my mother's 300D ASAP!Full disclosure: She runs, but not well. I'd love to sell her to someone who will give her some TLC and driver her around! Or even better, fix her up! I don't have time or money for a project now, but I'm hoping there is someone out there to give her a new lease on life and a new home! Now, I am no except of Mercedes but I think overall this is a solid car and would be a great buy for a collector or someone interested in all or partially restoring her.
The details:
The Good:All original stock. No aftermarket parts I am aware of.Overall, this car is in good condition for her age. Her body is pretty solid, she does have some rust, (see pics) but her floor pans are solid. She is still sporting her original paint job, so it has lost its luster obviously! With a bit of clay bar and polish she'd look good as new I think! She has a brown leather very 1970s interior in very good condition. Only one rip in a seat and some discoloration on the ceiling. (see pics)She shifts well! No tranny issues I know of.Her body rubber is overall good for her age.She is sporting all four of her original hub caps!! (rare!)Two sets of keys!Bumpers in great condition, nice chrome! I doubt she's ever been in a wreak. Many little things in the car work after all these years: cigarette lighter, power windows and doors, small light in glovebox, wipers, radio, small interior dome lights!
The BadThere is a crack in the front passengers side door storage compartment (see pic)Some rust on exterior (see pic)Missing front driver's side seat adjustment handle
The UglyLeft rear door is completely stuck shut. I've been advised with some manpower it could be perhaps opened, but I have been unable to do so.When hooked up to the battery, the front left headlight stays on...due to this and to prevent the battery from draining I usually unplug the battery when the car is sitting for a while.Back passenger left door locking mechanism is shot. The screws are stripped and I can't get it out. I don't have the tools. I will include the new part with the car.If you can get the old part out, allyou got to do is install it yourself and the door should work fine!
There ya have it! PLEASE feel free to email me with any questions!
The Fine print:Local pickup only. I will not ship, sorry. Car is in Seattle, WA.Like I said, she runs but not well. If you're going to drive her far, I'd recommend a flatbed and tow her.
Thanks for looking all! Hope to hear from you soon!
