1961 Mercury Comet Station Wagon sitting on custom fully boxed frame-Body-Car was sanded down to bare metal with heavy grit sand paper then clear coated with a matte finish-All other body parts are covered with spray can truck bed coating to prevent rust and give a clean finish-All chrome removed(still have original pieces) and replaced with black bolts-Remaining original chrome pieces painted satin black-Rear windows removed(still have) and replaced with sheet metal panels that are vinyl wrapped-Custom hood scoop fabricated out of the original hood-Body has custom 1"x2" square tubing underneath floor with safety loops for driveshaft-Interior-All new floor, tunnel, and transmission cover. All of it is removable-Interior trim panels and chrome painted satin black-New bomber style seats with custom vinyl wrapped backing plates-Polished aluminum air tank-New headliner, carpet, and insulation-Blaupunkt CD player/radio with 4 6"x9" speakers-Dual Vaiar compressors with heavy duty 3/8ths hydraulic lines and manual ball valves-Brand new gauges including gps speedometer-Drivetrain-1992 factory intercooled Cummins with factory turbo and injector pump- Larger injectors installed and 4"exhaust-Factory Getrag 360 5-speed with 13" Luk clutch-Custom driveshaft using Dodge and Ford driveshafts-8.8 rear end from 1998 Ford Explorer -3.73 gears, factory Trak Lock, narrowed, C-clips removed, big Ford bearings, 31 spline axles-Custom and adjustable triangulated four link with chromoly heim joints-4-wheel disc brakes-Griffin radiator with dual electric fans-Frame-S-10 front clip with everything new -New steering linkage, steering box, ball joints, control arm bushings, sway bar bushings-Larger air bags to help support extra weight-Fully boxed and x-braced frame made from 2x4 and 2x3 channelWheels and Tires-Racestar Industries Darkstars-17x7 in the front and 17x9.5 in the back-Nitto NT450 225/50 in the front and 275/50 in the back
This is a rat rod and not a show car. It is not perfect. Car is about 95% done with some little odds and ends to be finished. Car is tagged and insured and is fully street legal.
