Description
Here is a 1955 Mercury Custom 2 door. Car is all original has been in storage
in San Francisco since 1982. Car has a clean California title and has been on
non-op for over 30 years. Car has a 292 Y8 with a 3 speed on the tree with Merc
overdrive. AM radio. This was the lightest version Merc in 1955. Rubber
mats no carpet. This car is all original. It looks like 1956 hub caps. Car was a true
barn find with a low 73,000 mile. Tires were put on to get it rolling engine turns over
but needs freeze plugs tune up and misc to run. Should not take much to get running.
Brakes seem to work and trans shifts ok. Car is very rust free as it was always stored inside.
Floor pans and trunk look new. No rust in door or fenders a very easy restoration. Chrome is lightly
pitted should be re chromed. Car has a small dent drivers rear and a paint scrape passenger front fender. Only rust i noticed was at the front fender where it meets the valance. I would venture
few if any 1955 Mercs in this orig condition left in the USA. Car has California Black plates
last on the road in 1982. Any questions please call 415-710-3897. Shipping at your expense i can
help roll it into a trailer. Rolls turns good. Car has a low 4,000 reserve. I have a new Aluminum radiator plug wires and tune up kit all included. Car has had 2 owners. Interior is very original as well. Car looks to of had 1 repaint at some point it its life.
