1970 Cougar Convertible $7,500 No Reserve
Description
1970 Cougar Convertible 351W, Automatic, PS, Power Disc brakes, 9" rear end. 100% complete running car in need of restoration. This very straight car has been restored in the past with floor pan replacements installed as seen in the photos. Unfortunately they did not do a very good job underneath and additional work is needed. The transmission tunnel is in good shape as is the firewall and rear axle area of the floor. You could replace the entire floor pan ($350 - $600 at NPD) or leave as is and replace and front frame rails as needed. I have installed two perfect front fenders and have a very good spare passenger's door. You may need to re-do the rear quarters which also appear to have some Bondo on them. The engine bay, radiator support and front frame are in decent shape with the typical rust below the battery and spots at the fender aprons. The shock towers are in good shape. The trunk area is also in good shape. The trunk lid and hood are decent. The Convertible top motor runs but the cylinders leak and need to be rebuilt. The top frame is complete and functional. The seats and seat frames are included. There is an after market radio/cd with an aux input that works. 4 Brand new tires (which are a few years old). The bumpers are bone straight but need to be re-chromed. I want to be clear, this car is in need of a good sheet metal guy but with some work it would be an excellent candidate for a full restoration, a resto-mod or even a donor car. The car has a clear Colorado title in my name and comes with a Deluxe Marti report. No reserve.
I have added the Marti report which indicates that very few Cougar's, only 133 were painted beautiful Medium Blue, and only 74 of them had this paint / trim combination, I have also added two images of a similar car for reference. Thanks for looking.
