1964 Mercury Comet Caliente
Car had been backhalfed and retains the rear seat. Round tubed frame from front seats back with 6 point cage. Art Car ladder bar set up with QA1 coil overs. Front suspension is all new and control arms have been narrowed 2 inches to accept 9 inch wide wheels on front. 13.5 inch rotors on front and 11 inch on back. Custom narrowed 9 inch ford rearend. Moser 33 spline axle, moser spool, Richmond 3.89 gear, double rib case with Datona pinion support and billet yoke, Crome Molly driveshaft.
TH 400 transmission, trans brake, reverse valve body, PTC 3000 converter, bolt on SFI bell housing, transmission cooler and fan.
351W, Probe Pistons, Scat rods, dart aluminum heads with basic full por, Custom Cams cam shaft, solid roller lifters, shaft rockers, Cometic head gaskets, ARP bolts throughout, sheatmetal valve covers, windage tray and anti slouch baffles, single plain high rise intake, C&S blow through E85 carberater, MSD programable 6, MSD coil, D1 Procharger, air to air intercooler, 1 3/4" to 3" ceramic coated headers, all ceramic exhaust with side exit with Borla mufflers, oil cooler and accusump.
305/45/18 Micky Thompsons on rear and 245/45/17 on front
Custom made console with Cheeta shifter, all original instruments work including speedometer, all new and rebuilt heater assembly and hoses, Cyberdine gages for fuel psi, trans temp, boost, batt volts, and wide band air fuel ratio.
Custom stainless steal 40 gallon fuel cell.
Car is not perfect but it is very very clean especially underneath and the engine compartment.
Makes approximately 650hp to the rear tires with 12 pounds of boost.
Have not had the opportunity to run on slicks but on street radials at our local trac with no prep and no trans brake went 10.90 at 130mph running rich 10.0afr with a bad 2.1 60f, bad tire spin. First and only time it has been ran, with a few changes or slicks will run much better.
Can be driven on the street and turns heads everywhere we go. Serious looking machine and sound mean. Pictures just don't do it justice.
