1974.5 MGB Roadster
Description
Car runs and drives reliably. Tires and top in excellent condition. Overdrive electrics need easy repair. Overdrive will engage in any gear, and disconnects momentarily over bumps in road. I suspect both issues will be resolved by checking/correcting wire connections.Carburetors should be rebuilt, as car runs rich, and exhaust system taps rear leaf spring over bumps. Top looks good, but car is not rain proof.Car originally from California, and has been garaged since arriving in Pennsylvania.I am no longer physically able to work on my little cars, or any known issues would have been resolved by now.
I strongly recommend a personal inspection prior to bidding. Although I have attempted to describe the vehicle and any flaws, it is only my opinion. Opinions vary widely, so please do not form any opinion based solely on my description.
The car can remain here 30 days post-auction, unless otherwise mutually agreed otherwise.Payment in full is required within 7 days of auction's end.
Please ask any questions you may have, and please do not bid until we clearly understand each other's expectations.
Added:Transmission operates properly.Tires are Dunlop 175-70-14 in front, and same size Summit in rear. All are in good to excellent condition.Wheels are original Rostyle type. I believe they are 6.5" wide. The only known rust on the car is a crack on the right side door. I would grind it out and weld it to repair, but can no longer do this type of work. The car was painted long before my ownership. It is very presentable, but far from perfect. The overdrive works properly when driven on smooth highway. It momentarily disengages when hitting bumps.I believe it is a loose electrical connection or a weak solenoid coil. Either is a cheap and easy fix.An aftermarket stereo is installed, but I did not determine a good location for speakers. The map light does not light, and the gas gauge reads less the actual tank fill. The exterior lights all work, the horn works, the turn signals work, etc.The windows roll up and down properly, the vent windows operate but will wiggle closed when driven. The rear view mirrors wiggle out of position when driven. The seats have cheap seat covers over worn originals. The hand brake works. The brakes work.I would drive the car anywhere, but would repair the overdrive issue before extended high speed driving.I will not divulge the reserve price. Thanks for your interest and time in reading this.
