This is probably the one you want!! A handful of smart, high-quality, perfectly harmonizing JDM modifications. No cancerous rust. Great interior condition. Titled & insured in the US for 3 years.
If you want to build your own, this is what you’d hope to find out of Japan thru searching auctions with a few grainy photos, crossing your fingers, waiting for shipping, nervous nights with no sleep, paying import fees & duties, hopes & dreams, etc. You can literally have this one today! And I’m proud to say that about this car.
OVERVIEW
--South Carolina title & reg since Sept 2016 (Legally driven across and formally imported across the US/Canada border thru US Customs by me & titled in my name. Had been imported to Canada in May 2006 -- I have those papers for novelty. US papers were taken by South Carolina for title but that’s all that matters.)
~79,500 miles (~128,000 km)
--NISMO speedo showing 36,545 km at the time replaced original @~120,000 km. Currently 44,556 km on NISMO cluster = 8,011 km tallied on it. ~128,011 km total “mileage” (~79,500 miles). This was documented by the person I bought it from who was meticulous about verifying it and I had full confidence in it as he has bought/sold/serviced these cars for more than a decade. The great overall condition of interior & body could easily pass for lower miles. (I obviously haven’t driven it much.) The print out I made of his description in 2016 is included in photographs.
--My friend Yoshiya who owns & wrenches the highly-reputed NepTune Speed/Endless/Zeal USA shop in Huntington Beach, CA was impressed with the condition of the car, especially underneath
--VIN on firewall & firewall plate obviously match -- zero indication of tampering
--No indication of a collision history or repair
--Took a 1600 mile road trip including 100+ degree Mojave in mid-day no issues, no cooling concerns (except for me bc the AC wasn’t charged at the time!)
--Insurance thru GEICO the entire time, no problem fully insuring it at proper declared market value (and the rate is good!)
BODY & ROLLING
--No cancerous rust or corrosion underneath, only surface. (Common for these cars to rot in the trunk but this one is perfect. This car had to have been garaged in Canada since 2006.)
--Paint is nice & glossy! I believe it was resprayed same paint code at some point.
--28.5 year old car with a few bumps -- all present when I bought it
--Has some peeling around the window line
--Ding in the hood (factory aluminum = not rusty)
--Ding in the passenger door (didn’t break paint) that I was told will pull right out by Yoshiya at NepTune Speed
--Rear bumper paint cracked under the clutch sticker
--Few rock chips in clear on hood
--Rock chips in front
--Door release cups need a respray (factory color is a common Nissan color code in US)
--HID low beams (stock is really dim fog lamp bulb in US)
--OEM R32 wheels in fantastic condition
--Tires good, but they’re more all-weather tires from Canada rather than performance
--Stock suspension still tight
DRIVETRAIN
--Really excellent working order
--Low mileage new, authentic HKS GT-2535 twin turbo kit w/ reinforced HKS actuators
GReddy/Trust (GREX) camshafts 272/9.7 intake + 264/9.7 exhaust -- aggressive idle & increased performance through power band to enhance turbo performance
--Mishimoto aluminum rad
--Mine’s ECU
--Aftermarket turbo-back exhaust
--Competition Clutch 6-puck performance clutch (grabs, but I’ve lived it in city fine)
--New OEM clutch master & slave
--All powertrain fluids changed within last 300 miles by NepTune Speed in Huntington Beach, CA (Also inspected it for any other issues at the time… barely driven since.)
