FOR SALE VERY RARE 1956 CONTINENTAL MARK II. THE CONTINENTAL MARK II WAS THE ELITE AUTOMOBILE OF THE 1950'S OWNED BY MANY RICH AND FAMOUS PEOPLE. ELVIS PRESLEY, FRANK SINATRA, DWIGHT EISENHOWER AND NELSON ROCKEFELLER TO NAME A FEW. THE MARK II WASN'T MADE BY LINCOLN BUT BY THE SHORT-LIVED CONTINENTAL DIVISION OF THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY. THERE NEVER WAS A MODEL DESIGNATED AS A LINCOLN OR CONTINENTAL MARK I. THE MARK II'S STICKER PRICE WAS $10,400 TWICE THAT OF THE 1956 LINCOLN. MOST OF THE CARS WERE ASSEMBLED BY HAND. ONLY 2,550 WERE BUILT IN 1956. THIS CAR WAS STRIPPED DOWN AND READY TO GO FOR PAINT WHEN THE FIRE HAPPENED IT BELONGED TO MY FATHER IN LAW SO I'M GOING ON WHAT WE KNOW. IT WAS ALWAYS GARAGED KEPT AND STILL IS! WAS IN ANENCLOSED TRAILER WHEN HIS TRUCK HAD AN ELECTRICAL FIRE AND THE TRUCK BURNED TO THE GROUND. THE HEAT BUBBLED ALL THE PAINT,BURNED SOME OF THE DASH AND THE WINDSHIELD BUSTED ALONG WITH I THINK THE SIDE ONES TOO. I HAVE LOTS OF PARTS AND CATALOGS TO GO ALONG.
