1931 Cadillac LaSalle Convertible Cabriolet Rumble Seat Golf Door. Last 31 made.
Description
Here, for the first time offered is a full CCCA Classic, family owned barn find. 1931 LaSalle Convertible "Cabriolet" Coupe with a Rumble Seat and the side Golf Door. The car has been stored in our barn for over 60 years. Believed the original color combo is Highland Green and the convertible top color was Merrimac Beige with green leather seats, cream pinstripes, Scaraba Yellow knock off Buffalo wire wheels and black leather door panels. According to the serial numbers, this exact car is believed to be the very last 1931 model LaSalle convertible off the assembly line for the 31 model year. The car is original and needs a complete restoration. The overall body is pretty good for it's age, the front fenders are rusty, along with the rocker panels. The hood has rust along the edges. The wood in the body needs to be replaced but there is enough of it left to be used for the patterns. The frame is solid. The floors have rust areas. All the gauges are there. The car was ordered with the optional Buffalo knock off wire wheels. I have the seat frames and springs. I have all the convertible top parts including the rear window and most of the top cloth. The windows roll up and down. The windshield opens out. The engine was partially disassembled 60+ years ago. Don't ask my why. The pistons are out, ect, I located some of the parts. The transmission and rear were never touched. I do have an excellent running low mile V8 engine and transmission out of a 35 Cadillac which is a very close match that is included in the auction. I am pretty sure the 35 engine will bolt right in if you wanted to drive the car around as you were restoring it. Not many unrestored 1930s Full Classic Cars are still coming out of barns after such a long time plus the fact that this is a convertible rumble seat LaSalle makes it a very rare car. This is a $100,000 car once restored. I have the very old clean title to the car. This was a very low production model. As I said, the car is believed to be the very last 31 LaSalle convertible coupe off the assembly line for the 1931 model year and I would say that is pretty special. I have old notes on this car and it also says this in the book titled, "LaSalle" Cadillac's Companion Car. If you have any questions, or, if you would like to see more photos or come see the car for yourself before you bid, just let me know. NOTE, It takes time and cost money to hold an auction so serious ready bidders only please. My feedback has always been 100% since I signed up with Ebay over 15 years ago which says alot. I tell it like it is. Remember, if you bid and win, you own the car. The reserve is more than fair for a car like this and at that price, the winning bidder should be pleased. Thank you.
