1926 Pierce Arrow series 80 Runabout BARN FIND!
Description
This amazing barn find was recently discovered in its long term, rural resting place. The Pierce Arrow has been parked for about 20years and has survived its rest remarkably well. I'm afraid that the history of this car has been lost with the passing of it previous, long term owner. The car has retained its special Pierce Arrow 6 cylinder engine and drive train. Yes, the engine turns over but hasn't been run in many years. The mechanical brakes still operate and the transmission shifts into each gear with a positive click. As you can see from the pictures, it retains all of itsgages and controls. Under the hood you will see its engine with the full compliment of accessories along with an electric, triple note, air horn. Apparently this fellow wanted to be heard. It has 2 bucket style seats up front and a flip up rumble seat in the rear. The convertible top is in good condition and has its side curtains for those blustery days. The body, fenders and chassis are all remarkably rust free but the paint is badly cracked and flaking off. There is a Pilot Ray driving light up front that turns with the direction of the wheels. The Pierce Arrow name is displayed on many parts including step pads, pedal pads and castings throughout the car. It appears that some time in the distant past the chassis was shortened in front of the rear wheels by approximately 16". Idon't know if that was in order toaccommodate this body or if the body was shortened at that time as well. Either way, this car shows evidence that it had been modified back in the day. These series 80 Pierce Arrows were great driving, factory coach built cars that have many unique and desirable features. This is your chance to own one at a bargain price.
The car is being sold "As is,Where is" with no warranty of any kind. I have a clear title in hand. Buyer will need to pick the car up with a trailer and be responsible for all related transportation costs. I have done my best to accurately describe the car but please ask questions prior to bidding and I further encourage you to inspect the car in person prior to bidding.
