Description

Here is a 1969 barracuda convertible. I'm selling this car for my friend. I took the photos yesterday, 11/11/2017. I remember when he got this car about 1 year ago. Until that time it had been stored in a dry garage. It has now been sitting outside in the weather for one year. My friend is paying me to list the car on eBay and I don't get any kind of commission. As such it doesn't matter to me if the car sells or not. I will try to describe it to the best of my ability.
This car was sold new in Connecticut and was originally a slant 6 car. It was sunfire yellow from the factory (see photos of trunk). My friend bought it off a fellow in New Hampshire who sold his house and needed to sell his old cars. Up until that point the car was always garaged. The previous owner put the 440 in it. The 440 runs but I have never driven the car. My friend drove the car several miles from where he bought it to his house. He says it needs to be sorted out before it can be driven. I say the car should be trailered.
My assessment of the car: It's not all rusted out like most of these cars but it does have some mud in both quarter bottoms. It was hard for me to get good photos with it all blocked in next to the bushes like that. I did see the car when my friend first got it and was surprised at it's generally good condition. This car is full of spare parts and other junk. It comes with 2 new black door panels and some other used trim. The other used trim, in my opinion is junk. The car is filthy and is covered with leaves and plant debris which is not good. The underneath of the car is clean and not rusty. I have not looked under the carpet and can't tell you about the inside floor surfaces. The convertible top looks good and has been replaced at some point. I don't know if it goes up and down nicely or not. For a convertible Mopar from 1969 it's in really good condition. If it were mine I'd clean it up and test and fix all mechanicals as necessary. I say it needs a complete new paint job as the right front fender and nose are in primer. This is not a "fix it up a little bit and drive it" car but it's a real solid starting point for a nice 1969 A-Body convertible.
My friend has 16 muscle cars and wants to thin his collection. He says he doesn't want to pay to store the Barracuda inside or to have it made roadworthy. He's just got too many old Mopars and each one takes up his time and money. He bought this Barracuda because the seller had 2 cars and my friend had to buy both to get the one he wanted.
Email with any questions and I'll do my best to get them answered.
