1940 Plymouth PT-105 Pickup 201ci Flathead Six / 3spd Manual Transmission VIDEO WITH LISTING VIN: 8636522 Body #: 4012-22711 Engine #: PT105-30264 (201ci Flathead 6 from 1940, believed original) We purchased this fantastic Plymouth from a gentleman in Indiana who had owned the car for the last two decades. As it sits, this truck is in need of nothing. It is a very well-sorted, clean, and original pickup. Exterior: - Please see the video along with the listing, as the car is shown in detail. Blemishes are... all shown close-up and in direct sunlight. - Black exterior with red wheels and whitewalls is a great look on these trucks. While the truck is in excellent shape overall, there are a few signs of age in the paint. It shines well and isn’t faded, but there are a few small cracks to be aware of. On the rear hatch, where the Plymouth script is, there are a bunch of hairline paint cracks. There are two more on the back of the cabin, on the driver’s side. Certainly not glaring, but worth noting. Door sills and step panels are very nice and clean, which we seldom see on cars like this. Again, please see the video for close-ups. - Red wheels are in excellent shape, with no damage or oxidation. BF Goodrich Silvertown tires are in great shape, and appear to have been replaced relatively recently. No visible wear, certainly no rot. - Glass and light lenses are all clear and crack-free. Front windscreen props out with the twisting of a lever on the dash. Interior: - Very much bare bones. Black vinyl bench seat is in great shape, dash is free of any significant damage or signs of age. Floormat is new. Door panels are excellent, with no kicked-open markings or damage. - Odometer reads 59281 and is functional. While the odometer does work, we cannot be sure of exact, actual mileage. Fuel gauge does not read, but the voltage and oil gauges do. Lights are functional, and even the heater/fan installed under the dash is functional. Handbrake is functional as well. Under the Hood / Underbody: - The truck has the correct engine in it, which we have to assume is the original. The PT105 engine number denotes a 201ci Flathead 6 from 1940, which is exactly what it would have come with from the factory. Three speed manual transmission is correct as well, and the truck runs and drives phenomenally well. Runs like a top. Fires right up, doesn’t smoke at all, idles cool, steady, and quiet, accelerates with no hesitation, shifts smooth, and brakes straight and effectively. - The truck will come with a handful of shop manuals, as well as a number of extra trim pieces and spares. - Please take a look through the underbody photos, as it’s documented in detail. Underbody is fantastic. No rust or damage to note. This truck has been babied and garage-kept and it shows. - This car is in excellent mechanical order. No tendencies of concern whatsoever.
