The broad strokes have been painted and now it comes down to the details. Think of this one as the ultimate hobby store model. You get a painted chassis, a rebuilt motor, new tires & wheels, new upholstery and even weatherstrip. You get to decide if you want to go pro touring, stock or somewhere in-between.The in-between is where this car was headed. It was painted on a rotisserie as you would for a stock restoration. However, the bottoms of the floors were first sprayed with bedliner to keep the heat and sound out as well as protect from corrosion. The suspension was upgraded with bolt-on components from Hotchkis to help this AAR keep up in the corners. If you want to go stock, the conversion back could be done with a socket set. The biggest deviation from stock was the addition of an air conditioning firewall to accommodate a factory style air conditioning system from Vintage Air without looking modified. The paint was done at a restoration shop in Spokane, WA. This is a beautiful car with nice panel alignment. Tor Red is a Super Desirable High Impact Color, also known on the Dodge cars as Hemi Orange. The paint has not yet been final wet-sanded and polished which would really make the finish come alive. The car did receive significant donations of original sheet metal from another Barracuda. The rear quarters were replaced with reproduction metal and the floors received some new panels as well. The cowl VIN stamp is still in place though the core support VIN is not due to a new core support being installed. The factory dash VIN andbothfender tags are present. If you want an all original body, this one isn't it. If you want a nice, solid body this is a great one.Inside the interior is the desirable X9 Black. New carpet and seat upholstery from Legendary is included saving you some serious $ should you decide to stay stock inside. The dash pad will need to be restored as it has the normal cracks. A set of Rallye gauges are included. The console and door panels are all original Mopar pieces that look good but do show some wear. The builder was planning on running without a console for a cleaner look so the console brackets were removed. The original engine was missing when the car was purchased. Another 340 was purchased and rebuilt, casting numbers are pictured. Then engine was professionally built with forged pistons, steel crank and H-Beam rods. The fasteners are ARP units throughout. The cylinder heads are the 'J' heads with large stainless valves and upgraded valve springs. The intake manifold appears to be the correct unit and is wearing a set of Holley 2 barrels carbs numbered for the 440 6-Barrel set up. We did not get the receipt documentation on the engine rebuild so I do not have all of the specifications. The components are all pictured, but again, we did not receive any documentation on the engine build. The 4 speed transmission is reported to have been rebuilt. It is clean and I see no reason to believe that it has not been. The aluminum bell housing, inspection and cross member are included. The rear differential is reportedly rebuilt with a Sure-Grip with 3.55 gearing. The housing obviously has been apart, cleaned and appears to be powder-coated.The suspension has been upgraded with components from Hotchkis. Larger front and rear sway bars, torsion bars, tubular control arms and competition shocks will make a huge difference in the performance handling of this car. In order to keep the body straight and true Sub-Frame connectors were welded in place prior to paint. The front K-member has been powder coated in gloss black for a highly durable finish that will stay looking nice for many years. The front brakes have been upgraded with Wilwood units. The wheels are as would be factory with staggered 15x6 front wheels with 215 65 tires and the rear with 15x7 wheels and 255 60 Cooper Cobra tires. This AAR was a stalled project when we found it. The parts you see in the pictures are what we have. There are missing parts so please take note. If you do not see it in the pictures, most likely it is not included in with the car. It seems most of the missing parts would be those that would be commonly required on a restoration thus readily available through the aftermarket. So there it is. Pro Touring, Resto-Mod, Daily Driver, there are lots of directions to go. This AAR 'Cuda is for the true automotive enthusiast who wants toReally Drivea Muscle Car, not the stamp collector who wants to imprison it in a storage unit and compare ink dobs and bias ply tire date codes at the senior center. For Transportation we recommend Mike's Discount Auto Transport. They offer the best customer service and pricing in the industry.Call them for a quote at (888) 671-9285
