1974 Plymouth Duster
This listing is for my 1974 Plymouth Duster, factory AC, fold down rear seat. It was originally a slant 6 engine that was removed about 6 months ago. The car was running and driving up to the point when the engine was removed. I had driven the car all over the east coast and it drove nice. I originally intended to swap a fuel injected 318 and overdrive transmission from a crashed 1999 dodge dakota but I ran out of time for the project. I would also sell the complete running Dakota to the buyer if you are interested.
Here is a list of things I know about the car:
Original Slant 6 but no engine included in this auction.
904 Automatic worked well when parked and was a newer rebuild with less than 40,000 miles on it.
7 ¼ 2.76 open rear end
Front Disc brakes
Aftermarket Swaybar installed
Newer Dual 2 ½” exhaust for the slant 6, but could be modified and used with a V8
Factory A/C car. Newer compressor (less than 2 years)
New condenser, evaporator, TXV and other AC parts converted to 134A
A/C worked when the car was parked. The controls weren’t perfect but everything functioned.
Newer seat covers from Year one. (3 years old)
Newer carpet.
17” Aluminum wheels and tires from Coy’s wheels.
Newer steering wheel.
Quick Silver floor shifter
Fold down rear seat (opens up for a huge trunk)
Aftermarket gages
Plum Crazy Paint looks nice but is not show quality. Nice for a driver though.
The lower part of the ¼ panel was cut out and repaired with new metal before it was painted. That was the only rust on the car at the time. Otherwise it seems to be solid. It was originally a dark red as you can see in the engine compartment. The engine bay wasn’t completely painted because the engine was still in the car then.
I have a black stripe kit that will come with the car.
**Bad** There was a bad storm that blew the hood open and bent the cowl/hood, look at the pictures. It can be fixed but will be some work.
Newer steering box
Clear title in hand.
Mileage shows exempt on the title. Odometer says 03487. I’d imagine it is 103,487 but I have no way of proving that. The previous owner told me it had 75,000 miles when we got it 7 years ago.
OPTIONAL
I have a 1999 Dodge dakota that was crashed. It is a 318 automatic/ overdrive, running, driving, air condition, complete truck that I would sell for $1000. If you are interested send me a message.
This car is a good car that won’t be a huge project to run and drive quickly. You could put a slant 6 back in or continue with a V8 swap if you prefer. There has been a lot of work done and I drove it for thousands of miles the last few years.
We did our best to list the car as accurately as possible and describe the actual condition. The pictures show the defects but if you have any questions about anything, please contact us before bidding. You can also come look at it anytime before this listing ends.
