I hate long write-ups but all you tire kickers that never buy seem to love it, so here we go.
This GTO was a California Black Plate car. Meaning is was first sold in California, according to PHS it was built in Seattle. I bought it in 2005. It was professionally restored on a rotisserie from bumper to bumper. Frame off bead blasted and painted with Por-15. All suspensions components were bead blasted and repainted with Por-15 also. All new suspension bushings and mounting kits. New
stainless steel fuel tank and lines. All stainless steel brake lines. Engine compartment looks like it is supposed to look original. I have the Pontiac documentation. Car body was completely disassembled media every nut and bolt was turned cleaned painted and replaced with original or restoration bolts to match original. Body of the car was and bead blasted in and out and underneath. It was reworked and blocked (thats shop talk) straight as a razor. Paint is deep smooth and buffed to a glass smooth finish. Car and is painted the original Marlborough Maroon with hand painted red pinstripe. Has new black Legendary Interior complete with carpet, headliner, seats and cushions to match original. Even the seat frames were bead blasted and painted. Seat belts were restored with date coded tags as needed. All interior trim components were restored or replaced with licensed parts from Ames.
Car has a 400 engine however I don't think its original or date codes were blurred during a rebuild prior to my obtaining the car. My engine shop determined the engine was a 67 GTO engine but it was 10 over when they got it. It was rebuilt during my restoration locally, by Jeff Bloss, Bloss Engines in Kirkville, NY. He bored it 30 over new cam, crank, pistons, rings, heads rebuilt with new valves and seals etc. all service items were replaced with Delco parts where possible. Engine compartment is detailed and looks original. Car runs very nicely on pump gas. No race stuff just a new all street car drive-able that can get up and go. Car has rebuilt original 4 speed with new syncros and internal shift parts. New clutch and pressure plate with throw-out bearing. Driveshaft was bead blasted, painted and rebuilt. All new brakes front and rear with new front disc brakes stainless steel lines etc.etc. Rear end was rebuilt bushings and bearings. New tires and 5 restored Ralley I Wheels with new rings, centers and lugs.
Speedometer says 76,000 miles In the interest of full disclosure, I don't know if that is true, however car has less than 200 miles since complete restoration. So post resto-miles are 200 eBay does not have a (True-Miles- Unknown) TMU mile status. This car makes people crazy. It runs and sounds strong. Sounds as a GTO should everything works. Car is a pleasure to drive and runs on pump gas.
All exterior trim has been professionally buffed and or replaced with NOS or Ames Licensed trim. Bumpers are NOS even the brackets were bead blasted and painted with Por-15. Front and rear windows were replaced with tinted PPG Classic glass. Interior is a black by Legendary Interiors or Rochester, all carpet, headliner, seats cushions and trim are new. Ames Performance has many GM authorized restoration parts used in this restoration. Under hood and in trunk are restored with new mat and spatter paint and spare cover to look original with new components as needed. Five new tires and five Ralley I wheels all bead blasted and restored with new caps, rings and lugs. All door locks new and coded. Original style Teak Steering wheel and trunk release were added as appearance and convenience items.
All new M and H Wiring front to rear. Radio is Secret Audio MP3 player with remote disc changer in glovebox. All seatbelts are restored and date coded for authenticity.
Car blows away car shows and take best in show every time.Car looks and drives like a GTO should and fools many to think is all original.
If you ever dreamed of buying and restoring a GTO but shutter at the thought of how much it costs. This is your chance to buy one all done. If you are looking for a 100% restored car with less than 200 miles since restoration. A car that is done ready to drive and or look at, this is your car.
This car will rock car shows for years to come. You want best in show. This is your car. Bid and bid well. Serious bidders only.
