Exceptionally clean 1953 Pontiac Chieftain. No rust, no dents, exterior paint in great shape. Car came from Kentucky and has been garaged since we've owned it (2007). In 2007, we had the interior professionally redone - carpet, doors, headliner and piping, and trunk. The seats are original and in great shape.
Engine, transmission, clutch are all very smooth. There are fender skirts primed and ready to paint, but we liked the looks of the car without them. Tires have great tread, no checking, and true to the originality of the car are bias ply.Front end waschecked and aligned in 2007. Starter, brushes, bushings and solenoids replaced in 2008. Brake shoes, front and rear drums turned in 2008. Thereis a rockchip in the windshield but no spreading;it wasthere when I purchased the car.I think it addscharacter. The windshield wipers are not hooked up - only driven in fair weather anyway.
The car originally had a 6 volt system which has now been converted to 8 volt for convenience. I still have the 6 volt battery which will go with the car.
The car comes with the original owners manual. Also a very thorough professional shop manual.
This is a really nice car, I've just got my eye on something else.
