1988 Fiero GT - 5 Speed
Description
Best year with '88 suspension changes... and a 5 speed manual. In my opinion, this is the best color combination of all Fieros. Don't let the mileage deter you, it starts, runs and drives great. I'd feel comfortable driving it across the country and back. There's enough miles to know it's been maintained, and you won't feel bad about driving it and enjoying it. This one is truly a joy to drive.
Fell in love with Fieros from the time I was in High School (20+ years ago). Selling this one to complete project on another. Difficult decision, but must let this one go to a good home.
Pros:
- Keyless Entry!
- Short Tube Headers (From West Coast Fiero - improved sound, but not too loud)
- Upgraded Pontiac CD radio and speakers (sounds great with Performance Sound option)
- Front Lowering Springs (West Coast Fiero)
- Short Throw Shifter (Assuming Rodney Dickman, but not sure - was installed prior to my purchase)
- Battery relocation to front for better weight distribution
- Stored winters - spent most of it's life in Georgia before I purchased it and brought it to Wisconsin
- When I purchased it, the previous owner told me the engine was refreshed at 85K miles, though I do not have paperwork for this work
- Interior is in great shape as shown in the pictures, and the headliner is one of the nicest I've seen
Options:
- Factory Performance Sound
- Late '88 seat bladders (I've never used them)
Recent Work:
- New AC compressor assembly (June 2018)
- Drain and Fill Coolant (November 2018)
Imperfections:
- A few small chips in paint as shown in pictures - specifically lower front air dam, where there is also a small area of clear coat peeling
- Rear quarter windows are original, and in great shape - one small 1/2 long imperfection on the drivers side one (shown in 2nd to last picture)
- Dew wipes could use replacing soon (I only drive this car in nice weather, so was never a concern)
- The door of the storage area between the seats has a small area on the drivers side which is slightly warped and doesn't exactly flush with the side (almost not worth mentioning since it's so minor, but nonetheless it's here). I'm sure it could be heated and corrected with minimal effort, but it never bothered me. (shown in last picture)
