I am selling a 1978 Martinique Blue Trans Am with the following dealer options:
Deluxe lighting package, AC, power windows, power door locks, power steering and brakes, trunk light, remote trunk release (in glove box), rear defroster, intermittent wipers
This is a rust free California car.
OLDS 403 motor and 3 speed tranny
Passes smog everytime with flying colors
Previous owner rebuilt motor and tranny and I have no reason not to believe him. I haven't called him in years, but I called for about 2 years with questions and he always answered or called me back.
I have worked on the car for the last 6 years and the following has been completed:
fuel lines flushed, cleaned and changed, carburetor replaced, vacuum lines replaced, front windshield replace, hood replaced, door locks and window regulators changed as need to make operational (also mod to redirect power away from window switches and through relays--I can give the details and the benefit if you call or email), front end suspension rebuild, new wheel bearings, new shocks, new water pump, fan blade, and thermostat, new radiator hoses, original radiator rod and painted black, new radiator overflow bottle and hoses, new brake master cylinder, AC converted, new dash bevel ac vents, new door jamb vent assemblies, heater core replaced, new wiper washer bottle, hoses, and washer nozzles, smog pump and hoses, new alternator, new air induction hose, new cold air intake primary and elbow, new oil pressure and temp sending units, new belts, new hood seal at front and a cowl, new hood to shaker scoop seal, new deck lid seal, new hood and hatch bumpers, new hood insulation, new battery hold down and tray, new front license plate holder, new rear license plate holder, new window seals (I bought the last 2 NOS I could find in America and they shipped from up north and back east, so they are the good material) and door seals, all missing chrome purchased and installed, new exhaust system, new rear light wiring harness, new tach and clock gauge, new gauge cluster printed circuit, new bulbs for gauge lights, new gauge cluster cover, new door panels, new glove box door, new center console bin liner, new shifter plate, new shifter knobs, new horn button, new door panels, new door lock switch, new window switches, new vinyl seats (original interior was blue now black), new front seat belts, new floor mats, new rear deck insulation and tray, new headliner and headliner board, new carpet and insulation on floors, new stereo and speakers with new speaker wiring, new center caps on wheels, new Pontiac emblem on nose, new body paint (original body color), new paint on fender wells, new trunk paint, new vinyl decals, new metal birds on rear sail panels, new high beam foot switch, and new door hinges.
What this car still needs to make it like new:
rear deck needs vinyl piece secured behind rear seats (pic)
new dash (pic)
new AC ducts
steering wheel has chip on rubber (pic)
new wiper washer fluid pump
front passenger wheel flair (pic)
AC needs a charge or at least a check up
Small leak at tranny from faulty o-ring
speedometer is off by 15MPH and needs new cable
driver's side door light switch
What's Awesome:
Car starts up even after sitting, runs great, does not over heat (I haven't tried long trips or the dessert), All gauges and clock works
Oil pressure after heat up runs at 40psi, 20 to 30at idle
Water temp stays between 160 and 190 dependent on outside air temp
Runs straight down the road
All lights work inside and out (blinkers, brakes, running lights, headlights, reverse lights, overhead light, interior floor, and trunk light)
Power windows work
Power door locks work
Doors don't sag
The actual color of the car is clearest in picture one. The paint is beautiful and I'm not sure why it doesn't show well in the other pictures. There are 2 small chips from driving the car, but nothing major and I do have a small bottle of touch up paint that goes with the car. The car is not perfect, but it is beautiful and I have had no problems driving it around town.
Local mechanic and body shop available for questions or order your own inspection.
So now the question I would ask, "After all this work, sweat, and blood and the car being so close to complete, why in the world are you selling it?"
My youngest daughter was accepted into a great university and I need the money to pay for her college. That's it. It's either my car or her education and she wins.
Local inspections are welcome, so please call if you want to come see the car before the purchase. Questions or schedule viewing call619 838 1687.
You are bidding to buy the car, not to come see the car. Please be prepared to pay once you win. Please do not bid if you do not have the money.
For payment I am accepting cash in person or a cashiers check. Once all monies have been received the car will be released. You MUST make a 500.00 PayPal deposit within 24 hours of winning the bid.
I am happy to accommodate your shipper, just pay them and put us in contact and I will coordinate the pickup date with them.
