"The Liege-Rome-Liegerallyran two stages: the first started out in Liege and ran 2400km to Rome – about a 48-hour drive. There was then a one hour rest stop, after which you ran the second stage, 2400km back to Liege in another 48 hours or thereabouts. En-route every minute you stopped for fuel, meals, bathroom, or rest of any type counted against your time."

History :
101533 had a really wild life of motoring....After the Liege Rome Liege rally
Coupe was sold to a US service manDealer Rossel,Wiesbaden.

Story told by previousowner Paul A W ;
Jim S. Purchased the Carrera in 1970's...Jim S and Roger W. were partners in a Porsche ( European car ) Mechanic shop in Salt Lake cit, UTJim S. owed money his partner Roger so Jim took the 4 cam engine out and sold it to some one in Denver,COand as payment, he gave the Carrera coupe to Roger without the 4 cam engine.....
In 1974 Roger modified the Carrera .He Installed a turbo Corvair engine with speciallybuild 5 Spd Transmission.Updated steering to ZF gear bo, B drums in the back with chamber compensationbar,changed the shifter to 911 style and complete dash revision to vintage aircraft gauges.( Please see the pictures ) .
Here is what Roger wrote about the Carrera;
"Hi, The trans is pretty cool..It’s a modified VW case utilizing Webster straight cut non synchro gears-5 speed.this trans also has steel thrust plate on the ring gear side of the carrier. The ring gear is set up because the Corvair engineruns at opposite rotation from VW/Porsche, and I didn’t want 5 speeds in reverse..(ha-ha). The axle shafts are Geis 4340 chrome molythat I special ordered for the Porsche length axle tubes.This trans would have been state of the art for Formula Vee where they ran mid-engined.About the engine, I broke it 4 or 5 times, I was developing so much power with it that I could not keep from losing valve seatsbecause of the soft aluminum GM cast those heads with. I would say it was capable of over 300HP back then with Aviation Gas.I used to really embarrass Porsche 911, and 308 Ferrari owners going up over Parleys canyon which is about 10+ miles of some of the steepest freewayin the US.Also the power I got out of that engine is exactly why I built that racing trans…I got tired of replacing Porsche transmissions..Roger "Note: Addition to the 4 cam engine Carrera will also come with the turbo Corvair engine, 5 speed transmission,original dash and all the vintage aircraft gauges Roger installed in 74 ....
