1974 Porsche 914 electric conversion
Description
Up for auction is a 1974 Porsche 914 that I converted to electric and finished in 2006. I reinforced the longs for the extra weight of the original battery pack of golf cart batteries. I restored the body and painted it the original color. In 2012 I replaced the original battery pack with 45 - Calib 3.2 volt SE 180 ah lithium ion batteries. The battery conversion was $11,000 alone. Three years later when I did a software update to the battery management system the system would charge for some reason and about the same time I had a motorcycle accident and never got back to working on it. I'm downsizing now and need to move it.
The pack is fully charged at 149 volts and I have a tow bar for the car. I have all the manuals. If you fix the charging issue the range I used was 60 miles.
Other options are renegadehybrids.com make V-8 and Subaru conversion kits and using the battery pack for energy storage for wind or solar systems.
