Description

BECAUSE LIFE IS TOO SHORT TO DRIVE A BORING CAR!! The Classic Car Gallery 2316 Fairfield Ave. Bridgeport, CT 06605 203-446-3477 1989 PORSCHE SPEEDSTER “52,830 Miles, Strosek Conversion, 930 turbo motor, Rakish good looks, rebuilt motor, gorgeous!!” Vin WP0EB0919KS173261 The 1989 911 Speedster is unique for many reasons. Designed as an homage to the 356 speedsters of the late 1950’s, these later model speedsters came from the factory with a host of special options, not found on any other 911. To optimize aerodynamics and cosmetics, the... windshield and windows were “chopped” down and a double-hump rear tonneau cover eliminated the rear seat area. Very few of these cars were built and with their unique looks, will forever be sought after by collectors. In the 1980’s and ‘90s If you wanted your 911 to stand out from the crowd, there were a limited number of options on offer. Strosek Design was one of the leading companies pushing the envelope of Porsche performance and design. Since 1984, Vittorio Strosek created his own interpretation of the 911, and his design was a hit. The car on offer is believed to have been one of the few assembled by Fred Opert Racing, the exclusive Strosek North American distributor. This is a one-of-a-kind 1989 Porsche Speedster with a full steel Strosek conversion including revised body panels and a high performance Turbocharged 930 turbo engine. No expense was spared in the build of this car, from its mirror like custom paintwork to the Stuart Morton built 3.4 liter twin plug K29 turbo engine ($21,000 rebuild in November 2018!!). The car has a G50 5-speed Gearbox (original) and a new clutch. Turbo brakes stop the car and the Fikse wheels are shod with new Michelin Pilot Sport Tires. The interior is gorgeous; the stock sport seats are in wonderful condition, and the door panels are custom upholstered. Equipped with cold a/c and heat, the car is well sorted. Offering stunning performance and handling, this one of a kind car needs nothing except an enthusiastic new owner/collector.
