Description

1937 Rolls Royce 25/30 Limousine. Coachwork by Rippon Brothers. Listed on behalf of Monte Shelton Motors. This 1937 Rolls Royce was completed on May 27, 1937. Serial #GMO12. Engine #J28W. Body # 73521. This is a one-off, custom body by Rippon Brothers Coachbuilders of Huddersfield, England. It is one of only 42 Rolls Royce 25/30's bodied by Rippon. Originally delivered to Mrs. F.M. Hellyer of London. It made its way to the U.S. in the 1970's. This Rolls received a comprehensive, 20-year restoration between 1988 and 2008. Nothing was left untouched and the results are spectacular. If you are looking for "Pebble Beach quality," this is it. Please see photos and video. The body was stripped to bare metal and repainted in a beautiful combination of burgundy and black. Panel fit and finish are exceptional. All chrome and brightwork was re-plated. The interior was completely restored in burgundy leather with burgundy wool carpeting and tan headliner. The wood on this car is absolutely stunning. Beautiful, glossy finish that appears as new. It is hard to over-emphasize the superb quality of this restoration. The attention to detail is spectacular and the result is a car that is truly like-new. Two decades and hundreds of hours with no-expense-spared went into the restoration of this automobile. A large file of receipts are included documenting the work done. Mechanically it is superb. The original OHV 6 cylinder Rolls engine was fully rebuilt to factory standards, along with the transmission and drivetrain. It runs and drives beautifully, with less than 500 miles since completion. See video. All gauges register accurately and all accessories work as-new, including the "Trafficator" turn signals on each door post. Limousine division window between the front and rear compartments. Beautiful folding wood desk/picnic table in the rear, along with sliding sun roof. All custom-fabricated by Rippon Brothers coachbuilders. Upon completion of the restoration, this Rolls was judged at the Forest Grove, Oregon Concours d' Elegance (one of the top shows on the west coast) where is scored 97/100 points and was presented the Best in Class Award. It has not been shown since, and is ready for the new owner to parade it on the show circuit where it will undoubtedly recieve more awards and accolades. A realistic reserve has been placed on this car, well below the cost of restoration. It is ready to show or go anywhere, or operate as a specialty limousine for weddings or other events. Remember, this is a one-off custom Rolls with original coachwork that is fully documented. It turns heads wherever it goes. Please bid accordingly. WE WILL HAPPILY SELL TO BIDDERS, WORLDWIDE.
