NO RESERVE! Owned by Bhagwan Shree Rajnesh, only 19,000 miles, historical car!!!
Description
Up for sale Is this 1984 Rolls Royce Silver Spur with only 19,000 original miles. This Silver Spur is one of the 90 late model Rolls-Royces acquired by the Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh andseizedfrom his Oregon compound in 1985. It was driven by the Bhagwan within the compound to bestow blessings to his followers. This prime example is totally original with only 19,000 documented miles. It has been painted by the Bhagwan's special artists, as most of his cars were painted non-stock colors. It has been recently been pulled out of storage after 20 years and is in excellent original condition with a perfect black leather interior and real wood trimming throughout. The Bhagwan was areligiousGuru/Cult leader who purchased a 100 square mile compound in Antelope, Oregon in the early 1980's and paid $5 million for the property. He then started a following and built a religious commune on that property. All of the followers were mostly well educated and very wealthy. They sold all of their wordly possessions to live on his commune, as they though it was aUtopiansociety. The Bhagwan took all of his followers money and spent it on extravagant gifts for himself. Such of these things was the worlds largest collection of privately owned Rolls-Royce's. At one time, the Guru owned over 90 Rolls-Royce's and he used these cars to drive around the town and give blessings to his followers. In late 1985, the commune collapsed because of taxes problems, a bio-terror attack on the neighboring town, and immigration issues. After the fall of the commune and the Bhagwan's deportation, a Texas car dealer purchased the entire collection of cars for over $7 million dollars and transported them back to Texas to sell at auction. These cars were sold of one by one at black tie events and created a massive media stir. You can find the whole story on the internet as there has been many articles written and even information about these cars in a book written by Keith Martin, a classic car specialist. Many of the cars had only 200 miles or less and were in like-new condition. The current owner of this car purchased this vehicle in December of 1986 and has owned it ever since. The car sat in a garage in Princeton, New Jersey for 20 years before we took it out and got it road worthy once again. Now the vehicle is up for sale and ready to be owned by its next owner. The car has only 2 owners since new and has rarely ever been driven, with only 19k miles.I have all the documentation for the vehicle proving that it was owned by the Bhagwan. I have the original registration which is listed in the name of "Rajneesh Modern Car Trust". I also have the original paperwork from Rolls-Royce showing the car was ordered for the Bhagwan and I have all the originalorderingdocuments from the Rolls-Royce club of America. You get a full binder of information that I have compiled about the car. I haven even included articles in the binder about the Bhagwan and the whole story about his Rolls-Royce collection. There is a great article about these cars in a magazine called "The Spirit". You can download it online for free and it lists all the VIN numbers of his cars and speaks about them in great detail. I have included a copy of that article in my binder. Now, for more info on this particular car. When this car was originally ordered from Rolls-Royce, it was finished in white with a black everflex roof. Most of all the Bhagwan's cars were originally ordered in this color because he used this as a blank canvas to paint his cars all sorts of different colors. Some of his cars were painted with rainbows, so were painted with clouds, some were painted with birds, this car was painted in a more tasteful maroon with metallic squints in the paint. The color looks great and the paint is original to the Bhagwan's design. The car was painted by his artisan and has never been repainted since. The car has never been in any accidents and is all original to the way it existed on his commune. This Rolls is in great condition. The exterior of the vehicle in beautiful with no scratches, dings or dents worth mentioning at all. The paint on the car shines nicely as has held up rather well throughout the years. They are some blemishes in the paint here and there as the car is over 30 years old and was repainted a non-stock color by the Bhagwan's artist. But the pictures of this car show the cars beauty and its an honest car.The interior of the vehicle is as mint as you could want it. There are no tears or any wear at all on the leather seats or any of the other panels. The wood is all great with no cracks or anything that is out of the ordinary. The carpets are clean and have no wear on them at all. The interior looks the way it did when it rolled off the showroom floor in 1984.Mechanically, the vehicle runs and drives great. I have driven the vehicle over 200 miles to the Hamptons and had no problems with it at all. The car was sitting for 20 years and my mechanics got it running again by changing some of the fuel system components. The cars got good brakes, we flushed out all of the fluids and replaced them, installed a brand new battery, and the car has Good Year tires on it that are like brand new with the nipples still on them. The car could use a going over by a knowledgeable English mechanic, as it was in storage for a long time. But this car runs and drives great and basically all the features in the car do work. This car is loaded up with all the options you could possibly want. It has leather seats, power seats, power windows, power locks, power trunk release, power mirrors, Blaupunkt cassette player, power antenna, Air conditioning (could use a freon charge), power fuel door release, full instrumentation ofgauges, real wood trimming throughout, power brakes, and so much more. All of the features I mentioned work great! The car comes complete with all its original equipment. The spare tire was never removed from its cradle. The jack, tire iron, and tool set are complete and never used as well. The brake fluid oil bottles are both present. I have 3 sets of original keys for the vehicle as well. I even have all the original owners manuals and booklets. Its all here like it came from the factory. You will not find a more historical silver spur anywhere else, and it has only 19k miles! This car is fully documented and complete with a binder of bills, receipts, invoices from the Rolls-Royce club of America. This car is being sold as-is, where-is, and there is no warranties expressed or implied. The vehicle is located in my garage in Brooklyn, New York and will need to be picked up there. If you would like to see the car and test drive it, you are more than welcome to do so.
