Background:
I'm a SAAB collector and enthusiast. I bought this beautiful car from the original owner in 2002. Believe it or not...I sold this car a few years ago to a friend and then got her back this year. The rare California no rust car has a fresh engine and transmission as I planned to restore my baby and have a complete color change to my favorite Talladega red, which is the car that started it all for me when I was in junior high. I'd go to Lindquist SAAB in Culver City, CA and drool over that beautiful European beauty. Of course at the time my income was that of a paper route so no SAAB SPG for me...LOL.
So why am I selling this rare European beauty? on the day before she was to go to the paint/body shop, I received a call from my friend and SAAB Master Mechanic (J & B Imports - Bud Clark) telling me that he received a call about a red SPG for sale...got my interest...went saw the car...and bought it right there and then! If you're looking for a fast, rare, European classic and don't mind doing a bit of minor cosmetics, consider this one.
Details:
This European classic runs beautifully, all electrical & mechanical work with some minor exceptions:
1. Speedo/odo stopped working at 134K miles which was about 3K miles ago
2. Sunroof is off it's track and was going to address in my restoration
3. Headliner,leather seat coversneed attention
4. Radio antenna is stuck down
5. Cruise Control never worked since I bought in 2002...doesn't bother me.
My Goal:
To have this rare SPG go to the right owner...it's not just about selling a car...I love my SAABs and would love for it to go to a worthy home where it is restored and driven for many years to come. thank you for your interest, I'll be happy to answer your questions via phone or eBay. 909-319-2496
