Description

2000 AC - SHELBY COBRA BY SUPERFORMANCE 427 SC --Guardsman Blue/Wimbledon White stripes, Black leather seats, Black carpeting, Black Soft top, Custom spec. 460ci engine, 5-speed manual gearbox, 7,000 miles from new. The Superformance Mk. III is the only Cobra replica that is built under license by Carroll Shelby Licensing Inc. This Cobra was conceived as an homage to the infamous Ken Miles’ Cobra, CSX 2431, which dominated the 1965 racing season and was driven almost exclusively by Miles, wearing... Carroll Shelby’s favorite number, 98, in Guardsman Blue/double white stripe livery. This Cobra was conceived by a well-known to Autosport Designs enthusiast and has benefitted from a fanatical regimen of maintenance and upgrades during his ownership, dating back to the late 2000’s. The car is the recipient of a complete show-quality repaint and custom leather interior that was executed at or beyond the highest quality specification Cobras. All regular maintenance was carried out by notable specialists, as needed. In 2014 the car was upgraded with an engine rebuild by highly regarded engine builder, Black Arrow Racing Engines. The engine was completely balanced and blueprinted with top level components and built to exhibit a more spirited level of torque, approaching 600hp. At this time the clutch and bellhousing were upgraded, as was the cooling system with an upgraded radiator and larger electric fan. A high-flow oil pump and cooler with diverter valves were employed to accommodate cooling efficiency. The car exhibits a character that is well-mannered for regular street driving and is docile enough for Sunday coffee outings, yet is brutally powerful under spirited driving conditions. This Cobra exhibits a level of mechanical and cosmetic attention throughout, that is truly exceptional in all aspects. A 1/2 or full cockpit tonneau cover, side curtains and removable soft-top with collapsible frame, as well as records for its upgrades and maintenance accompany the car. A fantastic example of a specific racing icon, this Cobra is ready for immediate enjoyment.
