Description

High Line Green 1968 Shelby GT500 convertible with original black interior and a white power convertible top with glass backlight. This rare, one of only 402 produced, unrestored GT500 convertible spent its whole life in dry and sunny Arizona which accounts for its original paint and its completely original sheet metal resulting in doors, hood and trunk lid that open and fit like when it was new. The paint is original and is not as nice as the pictures appear. In our opinion this car really could use a high quality paint job to be consistent with the over all quality of the car. This Shelby is believed to have 86,000 actual miles with 3 known owners, one of which owned the car for over 34 years and the previous owner enjoyed it for the last 13. The life of this rare piece of Shelby history is documented with many service records, receipts, Shelby fender tag, build sheet and Marti report. a freshly rebuilt 428 c.i. engine, C6 automatic transmission and 9 inch rear with 3.50 axle ratio and limited slip differential. All of the original Shelby body appointments are in place and in great shape as well as the foglamps and emblems. The exterior chrome and stainless trim is in excellent original condition. This American Dream Machine is riding on the correct wheels with Shelby mag style hubcaps and Goodyear white letter tires for timeless good looks.
