Awesome FJ60!! So sad to sell this truck as I have put a lot of love into it. I am traveling a lot these days and can't properly look after it anymore. I need to pass the torch ... the truck is awesome as is but with a bit more love it will be truly amazing.
The good:
- Runs great. Super zippy for a 2F.
- Original Carb Rebuilt in May 2016 by Mark Algazy (of marks off road). See cold start video below ...
- Transmission rebuilt in Feb 2015, new rear main seal
- Brand new gas tank installed by Toyota in April 2016 (per 1991 recall)
- New OEM fuel pump March 2016
- New OEM water pump, fan clutch, fan installed February 2017
- Been in California its whole life- hence the rust free undercarriage.
- Mostly rust free - see below
- Saginaw power steering pump w custom bracket ... this is a good thing as allows for cheap and easy replacement of ps pump if needed.
- Comes with 4 extra wheels in great shape (just need elbow grease)... wheels on the truck were poorly painted black by previous owner.
- Lots of extras (wheels, marlin crawler seal kit, a/c dryer, tools, replacement light for broken flasher at rear passenger side - needs replacement bolt though).
- Recently replaced distributor cap, rotor, wires, plugs.
- Alpine head unit installed plus 2x alpine speakers in front. Truck has a 5 channel amp installed under front seat, can power 2 more speakers plus sub.
- Tuffy Console w drink holders - provides great security and arm support.
- All new specter off road carpeting
- All new vinyl seat covering with new foam on front and passenger seats. Not the 100% OG look, but still very tasteful and way more durable than original cloth.
- Butyl rubber insulation everywhere plus foam layer... nice and quiet inside (for an old cruiser)
The bad:
- Desmogged (makes it run great, but will be difficult to pass CA smog).
- Some rust above roof rails and upper corners of windshield (Rust Eliminator applied, bondoed and touch up painted... got a quote for $1200 for proper fix with welding and paint)
- Heater is currently bypassed. One mechanic claimed it was leaking but I think it was the rear heater lines. Meaning restoring front heat should be easy. I had the heater core hooked up and never noticed any leaking inside the cab, where it would have gone.
- Factory A/C installed but not working. New evaporator was installed, which I believe was the cause of the leak causing the a/c not to function. Needs to be tested. I'm including a new a/c dryer with the truck.
- Missing one interior panel (left rear cargo).
- Missing some glove box hardware.
- One light bulb blown on dash (temp gauge, etc)
- Slow Oil leak from side engine cover. Not a difficult fix.
- Could use a new set of tires.
- Needs washer fluid res and pump.
- Headlight cleaners work, but res is cracked.
- Overflow reservoir cracked, but works fine.
- Missing some chrome and trim... see pics. I kind of like the roof chrome off look, and it is better for rust prevention...
- Some door panels are kind of dirty (see pics)... haven't tried the serious cleaning products.
I am being as thorough as possible here as I want no surprises for the buyer!! All of the above can be fixed over time... still a great truck as is!
