Description

1979 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ43

Much is known about Toyota's FJ40 Land Cruiser series, legendary for its durability and off road capability. The FJ43 combines those qualities with a more stable medium wheelbase that was never imported in the USA. This particular example was professionally restored in 2014 in Colombia before importing into the USA as a classic vehicle, and has spent its entire life in dry desert climates. This truck is in pristine condition and has plenty of power coming from the original 4.2L 2F engine. This truck was mechanically poured through and tuned up to tip-top running condition, with any parts needing replacement using factory Toyota parts. Upgraded to a 5-speed transmission from a 70 series land cruiser, the truck shifts smoother than any 40 series I have ever driven, and easily cruises at highway speeds. The auto-choke enabled carburetor keeps the engine purring, and it starts up easily on the first crank. The upgraded disc brakes on all 4 wheels operate smoothly as well. Additionally, this top of the line outfitted cruiser has Toyota factory power steering, and ice cold air conditioning provided by a low-profile Nostalgic AC unit below the dash. All-terrain tires are fresh on top of 16" wheels outfitted with the original locking hubs. Brand new flowmaster exhaust is installed as well. On the interior, all upholstery is brand new, including the extra-long rear jump seats. A brand new floor mat is installed, including heat shield beneath the front mat to further enhance the effectiveness of the Nostalgic AC unit. New speakers are installed in the fiberglass hard top roof, and a new Sony XPLOD stereo is hidden away in the glove box, equipped with CD and stereo bluetooth. The truck even has the rare radio delete plate installed in the dash. All new emblems, signals, and many other details. The truck was given a fresh PPG paint job in the factory 653 Olive color inside and out. Floors were completely sanded down, primed and painted and are beautifully smooth and shiny. You will not find ANY bondo on this truck, it is truly a beauty to view and to drive. Clean and clear Arizona title in-hand. I have owned and sold several high-end FJ40's and this one beats them all.
