Description

As Marty McFly said in Back to the Future, "Check out this 4X4!". Toyota pickup trucks are built tough to begin with. That's why they are so popular for everyday use, and that's why people go out and play with them. This one has been upgraded and built up for some serious playing!
The fourth-generation trucks from Toyota had numerous improvements. One of them was bulges in the fenders which allowed for wider wheels and tires. However, they probably didn't imagine someone would be putting 33x12.50s under them. But that's what they did here, and it looks bad to the bone. A nice paint job in blue (bad to the bone blue?) gives the truck a nice shine. A black front bumper and grill sit under a black hood scoop up front. There is also a tow hook up front, for convenience, just in case its needed during some of that serious playing. Out back there is a tubular bumper with a hitch receiver flanked on either side by dual exhaust tips. The bed is finished out nicely in black also, with a rubber matt to help protect any cargo. Neat, clean, effective.
That theme carries through to the inside of this truck too. Blue cloth bucket seats comfortably hold you in place without letting you slide around. Between them there is a large center console with cup holders for your convenience. The stock, two spoke steering wheel feels good in your hands and gets the job done. A tachometer was added and is clearly visible through the steering wheel while auxiliary gauges for oil pressure, water temperature, and voltage have been added just to the right, under the ventilation controls. Below them is an aftermarket stereo/CD player for your listening pleasure, and below that, is the chrome B&M shifter that is a sign of what lurks below the floorboards.
And what is under the hood and below those floorboards is what makes this truck special. Those monster tires would do nothing but bog the truck down without some serious power turning them, so they put some serious power in this truck. Raise the hood and you will see a 351 V-8 that looks right at home in there. An Edelbrock intake manifold and carburetor top the motor, breathing through a foam, free flow air filter. Finned valve covers, also by Edelbrock, painted blue to match the truck, help cool the oil a bit, and look great. An aluminum radiator keeps things running cool. The rest of the engine bay is detailed out nicely with an orange distributor cap with blue spark plug wires front and center, and orange sheathing protecting fuel and electrical components. The engine exhales easily through a true dual exhaust system that runs out to those dual chrome tips under the bumper. All that power runs through an automatic transmission that is controlled by that B&M shifter that was hinting that something special was going on down there. So, don't worry about bogging this truck down with those 33x12.50R15 BFG All Terrain tires on those sweet looking alloy wheels. You won't.
Come on down and "check out this 4x4"! Then take it home and go out and play. That's what this truck was built for.
