Description

Up for your consideration is one of the fines, as close to original, minty examples of a unrestored infamous 1st generation Toyota Hilux 4x4 truck as you are likely to ever find. This truck is 36 years old, but look at the pictures, Wow!! It even has the factory AM/FM multiplex radio, as well as the factory owner's manuals and the original dealer's window sticker. When is the last time you have seen that?
We are talking about a super nice rust free truck here. Spent its entire life in the dry climate of Southern California and Nevada high desert. The original factory shiny paint has not been resprayed, or had any bodywork to hide rust or shoddy bodywork, like you might get with a recent paint job. A top of the line, period correct fiberglass SnugTop shell, including a beautiful truck bed with a Toyota factory rubber bed mat.
Truck is equipped with the legendary 22R 2.4L 4 cylinder engine, which has been rebuilt, with no leaks. It sports a progressive 2 barrel Weber carb, which runs much better than the original factory carb. Premium Optima battery. As an added bonus, it has factory A/C, which was putting out cold air last year. Factory 5 speed manual transmission. All of the 4x4 drivetrain works as it should.
This 4x4 truck has the disc brake solid front axle that everyone wants, for good reason, they are bullet proof. It has been completely rebuilt, all new front knuckle bearings, axle seals, wipers, packed bearings and birfields, fresh brake pads and rotors, calipers, tie rod ends, and painted. Also has new Rancho RS 5000 shocks with boots. Good for another 250K miles.
Chrome rear bumper, with receiver hitch both front and rear. Rear axle has a minor pinion seal seep, an easy not too expensive fix. That is the only leak on the whole truck I'm aware of.The hard to find factory original AM/FM radio is backed up with a modern Virtual Reality Sound Labs CD AM/FM SD card USB MP3/WMA player mounted on back of cab behind the passenger seat, and controlled with a remote by the driver.Factory tool roll and tire jack are behind the driver's seat. Factory optional slider rear cab window. Bonus homemade wooden storage box at inside front of the SnugTop bed shell. Original factory steel wheels with adequate tires.
