1977 BJ40 FJ40 Toyota Land Cruiser Diesel
Description
For sale is my 1977 BJ40 (Same as an FJ40 but with a diesel motor) which I imported from Costa Rica. I work and travel to Costa Rica regularly and wanted a vehicle down there and what better option than a 40 series Land Cruiser. The vehicle starts, runs, and drives great. Not to mention that the condition of the body is what I would consider excellent compared to many I've seen. It does have some very small rust spots which you can see in the pictures. Additionally it has had two spots welded on the passenger side frame which I have included in the photos. I had fun with this truck in Costa Rica and decided to import it. It has a clear title and registration in the state of Virginia.
This vehicle cruises at 55 MPH (according to Waze). It has a 4 speed manual transmission but 1st gear is really for off road use so for driving down the road it is effectively a 3 speed stick. I take it to car shows on the weekends and drive it to work on sunny days. If you don't like talking to people don't buy this truck. The top comes off of these although I've never removed the top from this truck. There is not much in these vehicles to go wrong. Generally everything works on this truck except the speedometer as the cable is broken. It also has the original dash in kilometers not miles.
