This Spitfire has been sitting idle in my father's garage for about 5 years. Prior to that it was also garage kept and rarely used by my father from the late 80's until about 5 years ago. During that period, he had started restoration on it and replaced/refurbished many parts. He fell ill and wasn't able to complete the restoration.
The car comes with extra items, including extra mats, the convertible top storage area 'boot cover', and an unused tonneau cover. There is also a box of uninstalled new parts, including: spark plugs, plug wires, radiator hoses, and a few other items. It has the difficult-to-find Overdrive switch which is built in to the shift knob. I believe the following items were upgraded or replaced shortly before being stored: clutch, clutch master & slave cylinder, brake pads, brake master cylinder and caliper cylinders, tires, weather stripping, and a handful other small fixes.
What makes this such a good project car is there is no structural rust or damage. The floor pans, frame, under-carriage components, and the body in general appear to be in good shape.
The car is NOT running; it does not have a battery, and it hasn't been run for about 5 years.
