This is a completely 100% rust and accident free (original Black plate) 1969 Volkswagen Bug. The car has been in California since new and is does not have a single spec of rust or repair, ever......The car was restored approx 10 years ago and was only driven less than 1,000 miles where it sat up until the original owners estate recently liquidated the vehicle. The car is a gem and was really done right. It has been fully restored with the exception of the perfectly healthy and completely untouched undercarriage. The paint was redone in it's original color "Diamond Blue" which is a delightful color. The body was stripped prior to refinishing and all panels were removed in order to achieve the quality of prep and paintwork that was completed. Please review the amazing finish work on the inner part of the fenders as well. The nose and entire body was rust and dent free, the nose is completely virgin and superb (see pics). The car has the highly desirable (no longer available) beautiful deluxe window trim package, very nice.......
The car has a few scuffs and chips here and there, but nothing noticeable and to be expected on any car let alone a 10 year old beautiful restoration.
We were told the odometer reading of 51,214 is the total original mileage on the car.
-Comes with tools/pouch
-Complete with owners manual (see pics)
The car is completely stock with the exception of the Pioneer am/fm/cd/mp3 player w/rear speaker shelf which were all was tastefully installed, old school horn/red button located on the center dash and the window washer fluid container.
Mechanically the car is in tip top condition. It runs extremely well "like new". It is an absolute pleasure to drive, everything is solid and tight, it feels great! The 1500 cc engine purrs and the clutch is perfecto!!!! No leaks, smoke or unusual noises. Fantastic brakes, and suspension. The car does not pull or lurch upon braking or acceleration. It is in perfect alignment. We enjoyed our test drive, the car never missed a beat. We really love this car and hope the next owner/operator will appreciate it as much as we do. It might be nearly impossible to find another California bug this nice.
Items like seals, rubber components, gaskets, bushings, shocks, chrome accessories, lights, lenses, fender beading, running boards, bumpers, mirrors, chrome tailipipes and most other wear/tear components-aceessories were replaced and or refurbished at the time of restoration. It doesn't look like any part of this car other than the belly was left untouched which is a rarity in itself.
The seats, carpeting, door panels, dashboard and headliner also appear to have been refreshed with new parts and components. The tires are older with good tread/dry cracks, however since the car was sitting for many years we recommend replacing the tires. Other than that this bug is turn key and ready to be enjoyed now. The roof rack was wrapped in plastic and was just recently installed, it is a lovely touch and adds a tremendous amount of character to an already stunning VW.
In closing we have had dozens of bug and hundreds or classic VW's over the years, to this date the car offered here is one of our favorite Bug or Beetles of all time, it is without a doubt a special, very reliable and a lot of fun to drive.
