Hello! I am re-listing this as the previous posting sold to a 'first-time' bidder -- who then wanted to cancel. Again, NO bidding from folks with 'zero' bid history. Only experienced Ebay users with excellent ratings please.

The bus: Ipurchased in June to use for the summer, but by the time I got it, and did the repairs it required, summer passed and now I must sell. Perfect Beatles Yellow submarine color and needs a caring new home who will love it! Great as a daily driver or for someone who wants to restore a classic 1971 in extremely great condition.

1971 is the most sought after year for collectors as it was the first year of the disc brakes, and the last year for the classic bumpers and low rear tail lights. Absolutely gorgeous. awell preserved survivor with original paint, original interior seats, headliner. Has original Oregon Blue Plates. and (according to previous owner) this bus spent nearly all of it's life garaged in Southern Oregon.

There are flaws to this bus, but the intention was to leave her untouched -- as a true survivor -- to demonstrate the real bones of this well preserved beauty.

All reasonable offers will be considered. Only experienced EBay bidders with excellent bid history will be considered. Again: No first time bidders please!

Exterior:

The body is in very good condition, and arrow straight. doors fit beautifully. With only a few minor dents and dings ( see photos and photo link) Looks very goodthankstometiculouscare it receivedthrough-outit's life from previousowner. Nearly rust free, with very minor rusting in a few places. Nobubbling or rust on the body. Door and body gaps are perfect. Very straight door fittings and body (see photo link). Previous owner used touch up paint on the front to patch up dings over the years, which is visible when close up (see photos). Rims and bumpers recently sand blasted and powder coated to factory original colors. (small indentation on rear bumper, but still looks great). Dents in passenger upper-rear corner (see photos). New rubber bumper steps installed. New front windshield seals (previous owner). Original "Yellow Submarine" paint color of Sierra yellow (L 11 H). Front spare "Tire" is actually radiator with ingenious custom meshing. Very cool and much better looking than the water cooled side mounts. Under-carriage clean.

Interior:

The factory black basket weave seats are original, and in excellent condition given it's age. The front passenger seat has a small rip in outer corner. A few minor rips in the back seats, but in incredible condition considering it is all original. Dashboard is near mint - has no cracking. Headliner is in excellent condition minus one small rip ( see photo). The front, middle, and rearseatsare also in very good condition (Middle and rear seats do not have seat-belts). Rubber mats in goodcondition. New rear hatch area carpet. Original hard shell spare tire cover (rare). There are 3 original keys, however passenger door won't lock with key. Sliding door works very well and is smooth.

The bus has factory A/C that is adapted to the Ford A/C compressor. A/C is currently not working (my mechanic says it needs to be charged) so is untested at this time. ( Full list of known flaws listed below).

The Good ( work done as of September 21 2017)

The bad: (will need)

-drivers side headlight is cracked

-Front wheel Bearings need to be re-packed

-Rear CV boots are starting to crack ( not leaking yet)

-Turn-signal switch is loose on kneck but functions fine.

-wiring thru out vehicle should be cleaned up / repaired

-Heating defroster tube is disconnected / would need to be re-connected

-AC compressor disconnected

-Engine makes blue smoke from exhaust. Mechanic just changed oil and filter and says this might be due to engine being cold.

LASTLY, Here are notes (below) as advertised when I purchased this summer:

"The original owner was an airplane mechanic / engineer. He removed the stock underpowered VW motor and updated it with the 74 Ford motor, but using the stock VW transmission. Motor conversion of the Ford (Pinto) motor came from Esslinger Engineering in San Gabriel, CA.

Brand new Weber down draft car, header, aluminum valve cover, aluminum timing cover, adjustable cam timing sprocket, high output oil pump, K&N air filter, MSC ignition, Mallroy coo., mid performance (274) cam, fresh complete tun up. Custom built front radiator guard build to same diameter as stock front tire carrier. The radiator has a vinyl cover with mesh front that goes over the radiator guard making it look identical to a spare tire cover. I have had VW enthusiasts not now there was a radiator on the front of this van.

Brand new custom built radiator by professional radiator shop ( less than a year old). New temp sensor. The electric fan has it's own temp sensor and turns on and off automatically. The fan was also remounted with heavy duty custom brackets when it was replaced. Aluminum high performance clutch disc, hydraulic racing style throttle cable / gas pedal (Heil Racing) with remove reservoir. Custom copper and aluminum coolant lines and silicone hoses. This bus has oil pressure, volt and water temp gauges"

There are additional photos and a video, but for some reason E-bay won't let me paste the link here.
