1956 VW Bus (Same owner for the last 60 years!)

Same Oregon owner since 1957. This bus has been immaculately cared for, runs and drives excellent and is in exceptional condition.

History: The owner (Floyd) was an engineer/car collector and as you can imagine he paid close attention to detail to make sure everything was always working properly. Floyd bought the car with 13k miles in 1957 and among other things kept detailed mileage records (see photos). Floyd passed away and now the family is ready for the bus to take its next chapter in life.

Engine & Transmission: The mechanics on this bus are very well sorted. The manual transmission shifts smoothly and the 4 cyl engine runs strong. The original underside is clean and free of any corrosion. This Bus would be a great reference for anyone restoring their own. This car has been well cared for. It is great to see a bus this age preserved in exceptional condition.

Body: The body panels are all straight. All glass is in great shape with the exception of the passenger wing window and one of the passenger side windows (see photos) they each have a crack. The paint is very nice, as the bus has had one high quality respray. There are two paint small blemishes above the front bumper (see photos) that would need to be repaired for detailed show judging. The paint shows very well, it was obviously done correctly, I would grade the paint a 9 on a scale from 1-10. All the chrome and rubber is very nice. I looked closely at the body and took detailed photos to show the great condition. It comes with the VW emblem for the front.

Interior: The interior is amazing. The door skins are very nice. Chrome bits in the interior are great. The dash bezel looks new and all the gauges work as they should. The original radio is in the dash. The rubber matt is good and the floors are solid. The driver seat is in excellent condition and still had the factory tags (see photos). Factory tools are stored under the seat in the tool compartment. The overhead console is like new. This interior is like stepping into a time machine, very clean.

Summary: This is awonderful example of a classic 50’s Iconic VW Bus. It is nice to find cars like that have been so well cared for. Floyd was an exceptional owner that took great care of this Bus, now it is time for the next owner to enjoy it. This one is perfect for cruising during the week and taking to car shows on the weekend.
