Description

~ 53 year old Pearl White with red interior Vintage Vee Wee... Intriguing history. Car spent 22 years carefully preserved and stored on jackstands under neatly placed sheets, blankets and quilts, fluids drained, upon original owner's safe return from Vietnam. Stored, but far from forgotten...Bone stock, garage kept Orange County (Southern California), unmodified Beetle. Documented Matching numbers car. Adult owned. Original California black plate car documented as never having left this area. (Note only rear plate having been installed, part of history mentioned)... The original owner was a renegade, as California requires both front and rear plates be displayed, and felt the addition of the plate disturbed the lines on his car. The front plate remains unscathed inside the original DMV issued Manila envelope. Time warp stuff... Included original period series of snapshot photos from new, substantiate this.Adult owned, never modified. 113,000 miles (2,132 miles per year accumulated average).
Includes thorough/neatly collated maintenance log and dealer documentation dating back to delivery. Purchased new at Kendon Motors, 1241 Pacific Coast Highway in Harbor City, California on February 27th, 1965. If that happens to be your birthday, then what are you waiting for? Sixty is right around the bend...
Car received a careful glass out, very high quality, trim removed, (exterior only) original Pearl White respray close to twenty years ago and finish remains stellar to date. The interior of this car remains entirely original. There is an approximate two inch seam separation in the bottom drivers seat and one of similar length in the passenger rear seat. Not torn, simply split.Having been garage kept, the car has been subject to minimal UV exposure /excessive ambient temperature throughout its entire Life.
Incredibly well preserved, not a restored car.Seldom found, and gorgeous salt/pepper entirely factory original (not reproduction) red interior. This includes headliner, seats, door panels, square weave carpet, rubber mats, etc. Intoxicating therapeutic aroma.
Stellar shut lines throughout. Very air tight.ENTIRELY fresh brake components front to rear (documented) within past 100 miles as well as complete front end suspension components left to right. Once again, receipts for all work included.
Original selling dealer optional Blaupunkt AM/FM/Shortwave radio with Blaupunkt (fader controlled) front/rear luggage area speaker. Factory pamphlet included. Produces faint sound and lights up, but not currently audible. Original, not reproduction, Bambus under dash very functional parcel tray and period accessory fold down sun visor included.*The car absolutely runs and drives as well as it presents. No squeaks, no rattles, no grinding. Quiet... The way, in my opinion, a good original '60's Volkswagen Beetle should operate. The car is quite content at 60-65 mph freeway speed. Hands off wheel, tracks arrow straight.Shown by appointment only. Private owner. Car is registered and titled in my name.
