History of this fine Classic Black VW:
This Volkswagen was purchased brand new in early, of 1963 by a successful business man of Los Angeles"Mr. Charles A. Bianco", bought at a very popular Beverly Hills California VW/ Porsche Dealership from 1955-1970 named (Presicion Motors VW and Porsche) Big in the 50's 60's and up until they shut the door in 1970.It still sports the original "Precision Beverly Hills" dealer license plate rings and both CA. black plates (FZS 119)
I have the original owners manuels, and maintenance records from the dealer.
We also found a Christmas mailer in the back seat from the Beverly Hills dealership dated 1964 one year later since new. It is kinda neat its a milage calculator for the United states.Lots of cool original owners history.
This Classic Bug if you could believe it, or not never left Los Angeles county let alone the state of California, Never has ben in snow, or driven in any harsh weather.
This VW was used only as a work car by the original owner. He use to only drive it back and forth to work from his home in Los Angeles to Culver City for over 30 years.
Only Driven approximately 9 miles a day that's only 3,000 miles a year.
This Classic Bug now has 119,163 documented miles total, and yes speedo is accurate and works well.
Pictures was taken recently and are the most current condition.
The Volkswagen was always maintained and cared after by the dealership up in till 1970. Then he found a local VW shop locally named "One Stop".
He made sure to always keep his car up in maintenance but at no expensed spared using nothing but original VW parts.
The car was stolen at the original owners home in 1998 and quickly recovered 2 months later in Hollywood Ca. for a joy ride, thankfully with only a ignition switch broken and luckily nothing missing Charles bought it back from the insurance company kept it up until last year of 2018 when he passed away from natural causes, He was 91 years old.
His son in Santa Monica Ca. inherited the car, and sold it to us because of too many memory of his dad with the car.
The car has had over $20,000 worth of recent maintenance with receipts that we could find, and add up.
This VW is turn key, needing nothing.
Has already upgraded to a 12 volt system updated not the 6 volt.
All lights, turn signals, wipers etc is in proper and excellent working condition..
Scoots right up the hills nicely, has a strong freeway flyer trans axels, and moves up to 70 m.p.h. without even trying..
Interior is 100% all original from 1963.
I recently to out the old cotton burlap cushion and put new fresh foam cushions in the original seats by our expert upholstery man. The old stuff was kinda springy, it now has a very comfortable feel with a nice original look to it. All matching color brick red inside with the correct patina. Looks incredible.
It still has the original VW rubber floor mat, carpet still from 1963
Dash is super clean with correct am radio, I also have the original factory paper hang tag for the Sapphire radio with correct date. See pics..
Glass is all original, and clean with correct German markings on all of the glass. I took a upclose picture to show.
Headlight glass is correct Hella not aftermarket.
Also comes with the original VW key with the factory key ring and key code tab from Volkswagen
This is as original as they come. Definitely a must have for any VW enthusiast.
Has way too many parts too list, put I will try
Paint job was done in its factory black color with the exception of only 1 repaint.
The black paint still shines very nice. Cost of paint job alone was$5,000.
All parts and glass was taken off and reinstalled with new German rubbers and gaskets.
The old paint was completely stripped down to bare metal, then primed painted, color sanded by hand, buffed and polished to a mirror finish.
Has a few minor nics and paint chips that was touched up, I want to be honest about the car due to my feedback. Over all car is in incredible condition.
I get honks and thumbs up wherever we go with it.
I hate to let the buggy go, but my son is not use to driving a stick, he wants something new and I would of keep it for myself but I have a bad knee..
