1979 Volkswagen Super Beetle Base Convertible 2-Door 1.6L

Description

This lovely ride is now for sale to make room for my 1965 Toyota FJ40. Everything is original and works perfectly!! Drives like a brand new car. '79 was the last year these were built in Wolfsburg, Germany and this is the Karmann Edition with Fuel Injection!! Everything on this vehicle (except the radio and horn) work perfectly, down to the last light bulb. I have not have time to fix the horn or radio. The horn mechanism in the steering wheel is missing and the radio doesn't get power. The motor and transmission run and shift perfectly. Tires are newer with 90% tread left on them.
I recently put work into the brake system, tuned the engine, did an alignment and fixed the fuel gauge ($905 worth of work). I bought this from an older couple that had it for 25 years and only put 5,000 miles on it through that time of ownership. Engine was rebuilt 5 years ago just because (per the previous owner who was a tinkerer). I'm the 3rd owner. It is an Arizona Beetle with No rust!! Dash board has cracking, which is common but I have a new dash piece that can be installed. I will include it with the purchase along with a box of other random parts such as fuse box cover, manuals and other odds and ends.
