1976 volkswagen beetle project, type 1, fuel injected (runs)
Description
This beetle runs but an Aircooled VW specialist has recommended a rebuild.
The entire car was stripped and rebuilt 3 years ago, less than 1,000 miles (all in good weather) since.
Frame and Body were recoated. Body is now a VW jetta paint code. There is zero rust on this car. Even the heater boxes are new (they are not connected to the heater channels at the moment). Interior is all new carpet and headliner with a modern radio and speakers, a subwoofer is installed in the parcel shelf. Engine was rebuilt then but now makes some unfortunate noises, possibly rod knock. title is clear, and the car passed a MA inspection before we purchased it.
We bought this car not knowing about the engine issues, hoping for a daily drivable classic car. Now a second kid means I do not have the time to sort out the engine and i would like to get out of the project and pass it on to someone who can get this car back on the road. When initially purchased, the car was driven home. I have avoided driving it since while I have tried to get the engine issues sorted.
This car could be an ideal subaru or EV conversion. Or pull the engine and rebuild yourself or use as a core for a new longblock or turnkey replacement. It is currently fuel injected, which has its pros and cons.
Additional parts included, such as the original wheels and bumpers and numerous fuel injection do-dads.
Car is available for sale locally, so auction may end early. Plan on trailering/towing this car if you win. I cannot in good conscious sell it as a driver in its current state.
