You want a killer summer cruiser?
How can you beat a sweet red convertible?
This bright red 65 is quite the looker!
Located in Southern California.
The car was restored a number of years ago near the Oregon/Washington border
and was an active attendee at the shows in the area for quite a few years.
It came to California last year where it received a bit of an "altitude adjustment"
and a bit of a change to the modern "Resto Cal" style.
The car is clean inside and out, but is not flawless.
It was built as a driver and weekend play toy, not a trailer queen, and it has
had some gentle use and has a few age spots.
The seats are in very nice shape...the door panels are brand new as are the coco mats.
The carpet is holding up very nicely and overall it looks very clean inside.
The canvas top boot is brand new as well.
Out back is a freshly rebuilt mild performance engine with
dual carbs, 12 volt electrics, Gene Berg linkage, 009 distributor, etc.
There is less than 500 miles on the engine since it received a rebuild to the internals.
It runs strong and is very lively...nice "pep" when you jam the "go-pedal" down!
The car is always garaged and well protected.
Stock black door panels are new.
The fender skirts are a fiberglass reproduction of a period accessory.
If they are not your style, they simply un-clip from the fenders and you are back to seeing those pretty wheels.

Under the hood is pretty basic with a clean carpet kit in place.
Underside of the hood is painted cleanly
The wheel are chromed replicas of the legendary Porsche "Fuchs" alloys.
Narrow 4.5" wide up front and much fatter out back.
Tires are in nice shape on all four corners.

As mentioned before, the skirts are easily removable if desired.
They are a very unique accessory and they make the car look longer and lower which is
something that gets a lot of comments at the shows and on the road.
The dash features a full set of instrumentation as well as a radio fitted under the dash.
Stock steering wheel, Empi "trigger" shifter.

Gauges are all functional!
Proper convertible only engine lid.
There are a few flaws around on the car like little paint blemishes near the trim at the tops of the doors
The finish work in the spare tire well is not all glossy perfect.
Shows a little age in here and a little wrinkling in the paint from a bit of spilled brake fluid.
There is a little overspray on the windshield rubber...you can see the masking line.
(yeah...Im getting picky...sorry ;)
A couple more blemishes across the top near the trim.
Its hard to see it in this image but there is an ever so slight wave in the body here on the quarter panel.
Drovers side bottom door hinge shows signs of repair after being over extended at some point in its life.
The hinge has been welded and you can see signs of a bit of bodywork here.
The door opens and closes excellent, it is just a cosmetic flaw that you see if you are looking closely.
The fenders and aprons have the holes for the US spec overrider bumpers, so it would be easy to install those
and go back to the "stock" style if you liked.
There is a very small paint crack above the right side rear bumper bracket.
When you open the engine lid on the passenger side corner there is another paint crack.
Really, the paint is holding up very well considering it is probably 10 years old or so, but I wanted to point out the little things that
there are so there are no surprises. If the paint and body was fresh and perfect, the car would be priced
significantly higher. If you want a perfect one...get ready to spend big.
If you are happy with a clean and cool driver, this is a great deal for the money.
The underside of the car shows signs of repair to the floorpans on each side.
The ever important support rails look solid as do the fender wells and such.
Another little paint chip at the bottom of the passenger door
Wiper hardware was painted over.
Drivers side floor pan was repaired as well.
It is solid under here, but the use of flat metal rather than the proper pressing replacement
is a little bit of a bummer. Not difficult to replace if it bothers you, but its not anything you see
unless you are passing road kill.
Fender wells look solid
The top is vinyl and is in good overall condition.
It shows minor wear from use but is fully functional and will keep you dry in the roan.

There is one small hole in the headliner that looks to have been "chewed"...but not by the dog
in the photos...it is a spot about the size of a half dollar from some traveling rodent that the pup chased in there.
Nice stance and even though it is quite low, the ride quality is surprisingly nice.
The front end is adjustable by the way and features disc brakes as well.
In closing this is a very good looking mild custom Beetle with a killer sense of style and at a very
attractive price point. With mid 60's convertibles that need everything, selling for 8-10k...this car that
is "done" at the low reserve price we have set... is a hell of a bargain.
