Description

1969 VW Squareback that I have owned for the past 9 years. Has been my daily driver ever since through the summer. In the winter it gets put up under a tarp as the garage is full already. Has had its quirks but is a great dependable driving air-cooled VW.

The car has been lowered with 3 notches in the front and two in the rear. It is very drivable at this height and goes over most bumps easy and rides nice.

The body is in great shape and very straight. Has some rust peaking through around the head light buckets which is common in type 3's. I have a spare drivers fender that isn't rusty around the headlight bucket but both fenders aren't too far gone that they can't be saved. No rust in the pan and the rest of the car is solid.

All of the glass is in great shape with new seals on all of it.

The interior has been all gone through. There is a new headliner that was installed by a local interior shop 2 years ago. The front seats were recovered with original style covers and new foam under covers. The rear seat is original covering. The carpet kit was installed when all of the other interior was redone. The door cards were covered by burlap as the originals were in terrible shape. That was before the window seals were replaced and I didn't know they were in bad shape. That is why the door cards have water stains on them. Again no rust around windows.
**The door cards/panels are being replaced with a new custom made set of bamboo panels. They are being made now and just waiting on them to arrive to install them.**

The motor is brand new and was done by a local shop. The tin on the motor looks well used and that is because i elected not to paint it, the motor is new. It is a 1905cc. I am running the Weber ICT's I originally had as I didn't have the funds to get the carbs after the motor build. I have maybe 300 miles on the motor since installed. Has CB performance thin line sump under it to for an additional 1.5 qts of oil. I have a build sheet as to show the internals that were used. The exhaust is a standard J pipe to header setup as I was piecing it together after building. The muffler is a flow master HP and has a sweet sound in my opinion.

The trans is in great shape and doesn't miss a beat except I have started to notice that in a parking lot or at slow speeds like in a parking lot first gear started to pop out. Don't know if that is the synchro starting to go or? I have a used good trans for it that came out of a fastback that I parted out and just hung onto. So that will go with the square as well. The trans still drives and shifts fine though with out issue.

Wheels and tires are new to the car. Wheels are original Riviera's from Oregon that I painted red as the original finish was in poor shape. The tires are all in great shape with the rears having some more mileage that the front but all are in great shape.

Brakes are in good working order. Tie rods up front were replaced a few years back as well.

All in all this is an awesome square that I'm an just ready for the next chapter in cars. Any questions Please don't hesitate to ask.
