NO RESERVE . ONE OWNER . RARE 5 Speed M/T . COLD AIR
Description
Hello and thank you for looking at my auction. My name is Joe and I sell vehicles differently than most dealers. Buying your next car or truck through one of my NO RESERVE auctions is the best way to take the games out of your next automotive purchase. I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that I am not a mechanic. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to check out each of the photos and read this entire written description, as well as our Terms & Conditions, carefully BEFORE asking questions or placing a bid as most answers can be found in at least one of those places. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. Up for a NO RESERVE auction is a ONE OWNER 1993 Volvo 854 with the rare and desirable 5 speed manual transmission. I would rate the exterior of this 854 to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for it's age and mileage. As you can see, this is a good looking car for it's age. It is finished in dark blue over tan leather interior. As with any older vehicle, please expect a few flaws and imperfections commensurate with age and mileage. On this specific Volvo, the worst I can point out is some obvious damage visible on the RF fender and the paint is showing some fading from age. Aside from that, just a few normal imperfections from age. It looks as if this Volvo spent some time sitting, as there is aged dirt along the trim lines and edges...but nothing a little cleaning won't fix. All of the trim and moldings are present. The body lines are all nice and straight. The hood, doors and trunk all open and close easily. The factory alloy wheels show well and are wrapped in a matching set of Michelin's with good tread all around. The tires do show some cracking from age, but nothing horrible. All of the glass and lenses are intact. Please take your time and check out each of the photos carefully. I would rate the interior of this Volvo to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for it's age. The door cards are clean and tight. The dash and headliner are clean, too. The carpets show well for their age and are not excessively worn. The few marks you can see on the carpets are residue form the underside of the floor mats that did not come up in the vacuum...but should easily come out with minimal effort. Both front seats are heated. The leather is soft, supple and comfortable. The driver's seat shows a little age but is acceptable. The other seats look barely used. The power windows, locks, seat and mirrors all work properly. There is a piece of tape over the sunroof switch. I figured it was there or a good reason and didn't mess with it. The audio system is original and sounds good. Even the factory power antenna still raises and lowers properly. The climate control system is fully automatic and appears to be working properly. The heater works well and the air conditioner still blows cold. I can hear the compressor cycle on and off more than it should so it's safe to assume that the system could probably use a little refrigerant...but everything works! The original owner's manuals are included. The trunk is spacious and clean. Again, please take your time and check out each of the photos carefully. Mechanically, this 854 appears to be in good running and driving condition. The 2.4L engine starts easily and runs smoothly. I didn't notice any leaks and the engine does not smoke. Her road manners are good for an old car. The suspension feels tight and well sorted. Steering and braking feel good, too. Every once in a while, the one rear brake makes a little noise...which is most likely from sitting. It was worse when I first got the car. After my road test, it quieted down almost completely so my thought would be that it will work itself out with regular use. She hits the road nice and straight. The engine keeps perfect temperature and feels strong. There have been no idiot lights on during my road test. The clutch engages smoothly and does not slip or chatter. Gear changes through the rare 5 speed manual transmission are clean and precise, as they should be. Out on the highway, she drives nice and straight with absolutely no complaints According to the service markings, the timing belt was last done in 2008 at 100k miles. As I stated, this is a ONE OWNER Volvo that was just traded on a new car. If you've been looking for an 850 with a manual transmission, you know how hard they are to find...let alone one that hasn't been all used up. If you're in the market for one of these, this 854 deserves your serious consideration. I only come across about one or two manual 850's every year. This one is correct right down to the Volvo battery under the hood. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.
