Description
This Volvo was bought new by a US diplomat serving in Europe and brought back to the US when she returned.
It has all the original books and records, and every service receipt from new. The car is in excellent mechanical condition, it runs and drives PERFECTLY.
Recent work includes the timing belt, brakes, tires, and sorting of the AC system. Everything operates as it should, just turn the key and go.
As the photos show, the interior of this car is simply MINT, it was cherished and cared for by the person who bought it new. It has excellent carpets, door panels and pockets, headliner, dash, upholstery, etc. Just very well preserved. I mainly deal in vintage cars, but I'm a Volvo nut and have had a lot of 240's, but never a '93 Classic with a 5 speed!
The car was caught in a hailstorm this past July, and it resulted in a lot of tiny paint chips on the roof and the side view mirrors, see photos. The hood and the rest of the car were relatively unaffected, but rather than pay for a repaint, the insurance company wrote it off as a total loss. Seeing as how the damage was only cosmetic, the Washington DMV exempted the car from being branded salvage, and it has a clean WA title to this day. But this does show up on the AutoCheck, and I have a Experian report that lists all of the car's info, email me for a copy.
As you may know, 1993 was the last year for the 240 series, and Volvo made exactly 1,600 of the "Classic" series for that year. Half were wagons and half were sedans, and they were only available in Dark Teal Green, or Ruby Red. This particular car is #689. There's no rust anywhere on the car, see pics. On Dec-30-19 at 09:06:53 PST, seller added the following information:To answer some questions I received:The timing belt was done in 2015 at 160k miles. The hail damage consists only of paint chips, there were no dents or dings from it.The car doesn't leak oil or other fluids, at all. Not a single drip or drop underneath.
