Classic 1983 Volvo 240, 4-speed manual transmission with electric overdrive. Thick envelope of records, big box of parts (new and used). Trailer hitch, all four hubcaps with beauty rings.
I have loved this great old "brick" for more than twenty years. When it faltered and died in the middle of my moving-house, that's the point I decided I'm getting too old to mess with cars....(even when it's running, any car can quit running at any moment...)
It's got gas and it cranks just like it always has, and that's as far as I'm willing to go now. Maybe it's another bad aftermarket coil....
Couple years ago, the mechanic said it had perfect compression in all four cylinders; it *is* a peppy little engine. Been running full synthetic oil in it for a few years. New battery, new Michelin tires, many new parts over the last few years. Spent $500 for the mechanic to put new bushings in the rear end -- what a difference that made! It rides like a new car now!
This car has better brakes, and it drives better, than any other car I've driven -- even new rental cars. This is the best model of just about the best car ever made.
A few years ago I put refrigerant in the AC system and it worked great until the refrigerant slowly leaked out.
Water pump, clutch, newer model of wiring harness that won't crumble, both fuel pumps, engine rear main seal,
The odometer has been sporadic lately.

I always try to buy OEM / high quality parts -- and they are still readily available, especially online.
