Description
You are bidding on a Rust-Free Western Car made by Volvo in 1968. This model is the 1800S and is known for its durability and reliability and won the Guinness world record for having the highest mileage for a non-commercial vehicle, over 1 million miles on the original drivetrain, engine and manual transmission. This car was recently repainted in March 2019 with a $3500.00 Base-Coat Clear-Coat paint job.
The right front antenna hole was welded closed and now no more rain water can ever enter the fender well.
This car is a clear example of the coveted 1800S model, showing normal wear and tear on the original fifty year body and drivetrain.
New 15 inch alloy wheels replaced the old steel rims. Only three out of the five steel wheels are still being sold with this car, the other two wheels were too bent and rusty to save.
The engine has been rebuilt and is a newer B20 block with a recent valve job and new gaskets. The old SU sidedraft carbs were replaced with a New Weber along with an IPD exhaust header and new stainless steel muffler and exhaust. The front and rear suspension bushings were replaced with IPD Polyurethane from Australia. The front and rear calipers and brake cylinders are new along with new disc pads and brake shoes. Car has new high performance IPD coil springs and shocks as well as front and rear IPD sway bars.
This car is a daily driver and not a show car. It will be able to drive coast to coast with Zero Problems. It has a new clutch, pressure plate and throw-out bearing for smooth shifting, electric overdrive works perfectly. A recently rebuilt Smiths Speedometer clocks the speed and mileage accurately. The Tachometer is intermittent, maybe due to the newly installed Pertronix Electronic Point-less Ignition. True mileage is unknown. The car has newly installed Recarro Type bucket seats with new sliders. I have the original underdash air conditioning unit as well as the engine mounted AC compressor, both not installed on the vehicle but are being sold with the car along with the original( three) 15 inch steel rims and hub caps, of which only three wheels remain with this car.A new headliner and carpet set were recently purchased but have not yet arrived and been installed, but will be provided to the new Buyer.
All in all this car is an 8 out of 10, and I get compliments from people every day when I drive it to work!
Only reason I am selling it is I purchased an original 1966 Volvo 1800S with the wide chrome body mouldings.
God bless the new Buyer!
I might be able to drive it to the East Coast if you would like to save some $$$ on the Transport fees, we can work it out.
Note: This is a Used Car, and is being Sold As-I, Where is in the Phoenix, Arizona metro area.
I have lots of additional photos of the car inside and out and under nit just request what you want to see through ebay messages.
On Aug-09-19 at 12:47:54 PDT, seller added the following information:The car does not have 1 Million Miles, the true mileage is unknown. The odometer shows 13,476 which could be 100k, 200k, 300k or more, there is just no way to know.
Please call me at 954-284-7780 to text or leave me a message. I am an airline pilot and check my messages several times each day. Thanks for your interest in this very nice running and good looking 1800S painted in Guards Red! With the new black interior it really looks sharp. I am still waiting for the white headliner and new carpet set to arrive in the mail. The car will come with new carpet and a new headliner which you will need to have installed. The original underdash air conditioner and condenser unit will also be included with this purchase as well as three steel original Volvo rims with the hubcaps. The air conditioner will not be installed in the car, if you want it with the purchase I will put it in the trunk along with one of the three steel rims. The other two steel rims will need to be shipped via USPS or UPS at your cost. This car is located at my home in the metro-Phoenix, Arizona area, not in Saipan next to Guam......I have informed EBay but there is no way for me to correct this, again the car is located in the Phoenix, Arizona area........Thanks and God Bless!
