Description

My name is Svenmeister and I did built this car and personally selling it. I named this the Swedish Gangsta Sled.I have built several show winning and featured motorcycle and Hot Rod creations of all kinds in the past and done that for a living professionally. This "Volvo build" was one of the things left on my bucket list to do. I wanted to have a classic car you don't see every day on the outside with a modern engine and "chassis" underneath. Including power steering, AC... just a simple cruiser. When I started this project I was planning on this one being a keeper and daily driver for a change, so I definitely did go the extra mile with everything. Unfortunately life has thrown me some curveballs and I decided to simplify things and live life on the road with a little camper trailer for a while. Needless to say, I will not have any way to hang on to this car no longer, so here it is up for auction at no reserve!
This project has started with a 1966 Volvo Amazon and a 2005 Kia Spectra.I suggest you go look into the Instagram posts to better understand what's up.The car has been finished as is about 2 months ago and I did put 500 miles on it so far. It handles and drives like a 2005 Kia... 80 mph long distance, no problem! In case you wonder, I have close to $18K invested in this, that's the 2 cars, parts and materials, NO labor cost!
Mechanical: The Kia had about 121K on the clock. Here's a list of parts I did replace with NEW parts:Brake pads and rotors, ignition coils, wires, spark plugs, fuel pump, timing belt kit, water pump, oil pan gasket, valve cover and gasket. alternator,...Also new parts: 3 row aftermarket radiator, external oil cooler, external transmission cooler,...All fluids have been replaced with specific ones. This car runs like a champ and there's not a drop leaking!!I would not have a doubt driving this long distance from coast to coast at this point. This is the stock 2.0 L L4 DOHC 16 engine with the stock automatic transmission. The exhaust is also stock and quiet...maybe too quiet!
Suspension:Chassis Tech has fabricated 4 heavy duty custom made air bagged struts for it. The system is setup with a manifold that let's you lower and raise all 4 sides independently. I currently only have 2 OG lowrider switches hooked up for front and rear. adding a switchbox or Bluetooth will be no problem if needed!
Body and Paint:It's rust free. The front and rear sheet metal and the bumpers have been lowered a couple inches. the fender flares are of a Audi A4.The roof has a satin clear over the original patina. The body has been painted and satin cleared. I did not do a perfect paint job and left some dings on purpose to match the car's look. The door logo and lettering is 1shot paint and probably should come off with laquer thinner.
Electrical:All lights work. Switch is hidden under dash. Working oil temp, pressure and water temp LED gauges. Speedo is GPS and odometer reads just shy of 500 miles now.The stereo system has a Chinese android media player. 2 sets of Infinity Kappa Series speakers. Rockford Fossgate Amp. 2 under seat amplified subwoofers (the passenger side has just stopped working!?).I was gonna hook up a keyless ignition, I will include the system along a couple bins of other extra parts too (check picture in listing). There's no gas level gauge hooked up at this point and I never took the time to wire up the windshield wipers either.
Interior:It's unfinished but functional. (rear side panels will come with extra parts. They're not in the best shape. I also include the metal bars for the headliner but I forgot to include them in the picture with the additional parts!)
So, that's it, I can't really think about anything else.Feel free to ask questions! The car is currently stored inside up until it gets picked up but I'd be more than welcome to show it to any serious buyers.
Oh yeah, the Texas title is free and clear and of course it passed inspection!
