Thanks for taking a look at our 1959 Austin Healey “Bugeye” or “Frogeye” Sprite.

The Bugeye Sprite. She’s instantly recognizable around the world and everyone goes crazy over that too cute persona in a bright red sports car. Equally a terror on the racetracks since its inception, this lightweight rocket is a joy to drive.

We acquired this beautiful Sprite on trade and were instantly smitten with its awesome looks, nice restoration and superb drive-ability.

This is the one with everything the enthusiast wants. Upgraded 1275cc engine. Disc brakes. Beautifully restored coachwork. Nice paint. Gorgeous interior. New convertible top. New side curtains. Ladies windscreen. Books and records.

Exterior.

Period correct Healey Poppy Red has been buffed to a high sheen and looks great. Excellent panel fit. Very good chrome and trim. New convertible top, perfect bows and new side curtains with plexi sliders. Note the rear view mirrors have been mounted to the windscreen frame so as not to damage the wings or the doors. See the pictures. No rust, a few paint nicks at the cowl.

Wheels, Tires

Factory steel wheels with Chrome Austin Healey caps. Newer tires.

Engine

1275cc Runs awesome. Fresh tune, all belts, hoses, fluids. Dual polished carbs. Electric Fuel Pump, Electric cooling fan. Heater blower motor is not hooked up but is included. Transmission

Smooth shifting 4 speed manual transmission. 2nd gear synchro takes a light touch.

Braking

Disc brake upgrade with new lines, hoses etc.

The trim is in excellent shape.

Glass

Windshield is good original condition. Side windows and rear convertible top window are new.

Interior

Piped in White, the Black seat upholstery is in excellent condition. Beautiful carpeting and embroidered mats. All gauges working excellent. A ladies windscreen is fitted behind the seats to defeat the wind swirl of open air motoring. No more thrashed hairdo on the way to dinner on the coast. A snug tonneau cover protects the interior without need for the top or a cover.

Odometer

The odometer shows 39217 miles and operates properly. We believe that the odometer is beyond it’s capacity to measure. Rarely were these cars kept put away. Most were Driven as they were intended.

DMV

The title is clear and all documentation is included. No back fees are due. No smog is required for California residents. Antique registration for most US States.

Documentation

A thick build book with pictures, receipts and documentation is included.
