Description

1959 BMW Isetta 300. Almost 100% original. Runs and drives. Stored indoors, on display, Isetta has gone through a meticulous frame-off restoration, resulting in a very attractive, better than factory condition, finished car. Completely disassembled down to bare chassis, body, and door. Engine, transmission, and chain-case housing, were removed and rebuilt, and modified, with a stroked crank shaft, and a dual-sparkplug head. All new seals, bearings, rings, and gaskets, were installed. The carburetor was completely disassembled, cleaned and rebuilt with all new components, polished along with the carburetor manifold, and re-installed. All aluminum parts were sand blasted clean, including the engine block, cylinder and head, the transmission housing, the chain-case housings, and the front steering knuckles. The chassis, and all of the related parts, were sand blasted clean and powder coated. All rubber parts; window seals, drive couplers, and bushings were replaced. New shocks installed. 95% of the original hardware, was sand blasted and re-plated with a zinc coating, preserving the original manufacturer's production markings.. New hardware was used where necessary. The body and the door were expertly restored, and painted with a gloss black/orange paint. Some parts were re-chromed where necessary. The bumpers, and the front and rear turn signal indicators were removed for a cleaner “frenched" look. The interior was redone. All electrical components, were removed, cleaned and tested prior to reassembly. The original electrical wiring harnesses of the car was removed, cleaned and repaired. All brake components were rebuilt with new parts. New brake linings were applied to the brake shoes. A brand new set of tires, completed the restoration.
This six months restoring, resulted in a BMW 1959 Isetta 300, two-tone black and orange, 298cc single-cylinder 4-stroke engine, 4-speed manual w/reverse, exquisite body and chrome, brand new whitewall tires, sliding windows, new rubber all around, runs and drives nicely.
