Description

Beautifully restored 1970 Buick GS455 Convertible with some sweet custom touches hidden underneath! Loaded with all the right options! Bucket seats, console 4-speed transmission, power steering & brakes, power windows, rally gauges with tachometer, and much more! Massive power! Arguably the most popular year for Grand Sport enthusiasts! The 1970 model was the first year true big block performance came offered from Buick, and with it some of their most aggressive body designs to better compete in the muscle car... arena! This meant potent 455ci V8 engines, Stage I performance engine upgrades, and the ever famous GSX appearance package! Buick would prove it wasn't your grandad's luxury vehicle any longer, but a competitive muscle car that would produce more torque than any other GM offering! A dominating tire shredder! We are very proud to offer this 1970 Buick GS455 convertible. Finished in gorgeous Ming Blue Metallic over Pearl White upholstery and White convertible top, this example comes extremely well equipped with favorable options! Starting with a powerful, professionally built 455ci V8 mated to an M21 close ratio 4-speed transmission; it produces 525 horsepower and massive torque! Both the engine and transmission were fully rebuilt just 5000 miles ago. This included a fresh 10:1 compression 455ci crate block with T/A Performance Stage 2 oval port aluminum heads (2.13 intake/1.755 exhaust) that are fully ported, adjustable pushrods, aluminum roller rockers, high lift camshaft, Edelbrock Performer B4B aluminum intake, Holley Performance 750cfm double pumper with Quikcool heat shield, Ram Air intake, MSD ignition system with Pro-billet distributor, ceramic coated long tube headers, fully welded 3" stainless steel exhaust system with high flow performance mufflers and X-pipe! This is mated to the enhanced close-ratio Muncie M21 with Super Case by Auto Gear, built better internally to better handle serious torque. With this application comes a Hurst short throw shifter, dual friction clutch, and heavy duty throw-out bearing. The rebuilt Buick 10-bolt rear axle houses a 3.23 Posi-Traction gear set. To enhance the road manners of this stellar Buick GS455 Convertible, the chassis was fitted with a full Hotchkis TVS suspension system. Up front, a huge 1 3/8" sway bar was added along with 2" lowering springs, adjustable steering arms, and AGR quick ratio steering box. At the rear, the Hotchkis kit allows fully adjustable upper trailing arms, boxed lower trailing arms, 2" lowering springs, 1" sway bar, Bilstein front shocks and adjustable air shocks at the rear! It possesses a brilliantly solid body, chassis, floor & trunk pans, with excellent panel fitment and gaps! A truly awesome find that holds the road with ease! Other equipment includes buckets seats with center console, Rally gauges with in-dash tachometer, tastefully upgraded Alpine AM/FM/CD radio with door & rear seat speakers and trunk mounted 10" subwoofer powered by a 2000-watt Pioneer amplifier, sport steering wheel, power front disc brakes, power steering, power convertible top, power windows, 15" Magnum 500 wheels with staggered BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires measuring 245/60 up front and 275/60 at the rear, dual exterior mirrors with driver side remote, day/night interior mirror with map light, Buick carpeted floor mats, and so much more!! Only 1,416 of these GS455 convertibles were ever sold to the public in 1970 making them one of the hardest cars to find on the market today! Make no mistake, 1970 is the last year of performance-inspired street machines in the eyes of many collectors. With insurance and emission standards on the rise, production cars after 1971 just weren't the same. With this list of options, superb color combination, and undeniable rarity accompanying this vehicle, you just can't miss on the future investment potential if it's parked in your own garage! It will come with the original Protect-o-Plate supporting its factory 455 V8/4-speed combination, and an original owner's manual. Serious buyers should feel welcomed to call with additional questions or to schedule a viewing appointment!
